20.01.2022 COMMUNITY!! I never realised how important Community is until I was at home by myself for many months recovering from my knee operation. I could see what was ha...ppening on facebook, but what if you didnt have face book, or a computer or a mobile phone. Across the world the Bowling Clubs have closed until further notice due to the COVID-19, as we know, a large percentage of bowlers are at high risk due to their age. They cant go down for a roll up and enjoy the company of their fellow friends. But for many of them, the bowling club is their home, their family. They are now at home lonely, missing their friends and a game that is a massive part of their life and happiness. A high percentage of them have limited knowledge of technology, what facetime is or even Zoom calls. Over the past weeks I have taught members from the bowls community how to use zoom, by taking them through the simple programs, step by step over the phone. So, if there is anyone out in the bowls community that would like me to help them set it up so they can video call their friends, family or grandchildren, please reach out. And on that note I introduce you to a Ron Hutchinson.. a member of the bowls community for 23 years. He is in isolation as he is a person that is at high risk from the virus, so while missing his bowls he wrote this song for the bowls community.. SHARE this to another bowler to show them we can come together, in these hard times.
