24.01.2022 Prepare your own ANZAC Day home service to Light Up The Dawn. RSL South Australia has addressed public requests for dawn service resources by posting a home ser...vice guide with a format and links to bugle calls and national anthems at https://bit.ly/3aSuhKr The Adelaide Dawn Service (closed to the public) will be live broadcast commencing at 06:00 on ABC 891 with Peter Goers and on ABC News 24 (not the ABC main channel). Even if you normally attend the Adelaide Dawn Service, do not attempt to attend this year, as there is an exclusion zone around the memorial and police will move you on. You can listen to your local ABC Radio from your driveway or balcony via your mobile phone. Download the ABC Listen app and search for ABC Adelaide or your local ABC station and join us, as we commemorate ANZAC Day together. Link: https://radio.abc.net.au/help/apps It will also be live streamed here on our Facebook page.

06.01.2022 RSL State President advises that the 2020 Adelaide ANZAC Day Commemorations and activities are cancelled due to government directives regarding COVID-19 health concerns.

06.01.2022 Update on Adelaide Anzac Day Dawn Service: G'day all, I wanted to give you an update on current plans for the Adelaide Dawn Service. At this stage, due to the c...oronavirus outbreak, it will be going ahead with invited guests only. These guests will be those on the state order of precedence plus one representative from each ex-service organisation and kindred organisation. The invitations will be sent in the next week or so. By reducing the numbers in this way, if the threshold for mass gatherings is further reduced, we may still be able to go ahead. Unfortunately, the general public cannot attend, and the area surrounding the National War Memorial will be cordoned off. This means that the police will be present to move on members of the general public who try to attend. Please do not attempt to attend the Adelaide Dawn Service unless you have been personally invited. This is very important from a public health perspective. We are still in negotiations with the ABC regarding live radio broadcast on ABC891 and TV broadcast, and I will advise as soon as decisions are made. We have stressed to the ABC how important the broadcasts will be to those who are self-isolating. As you may be aware, many suburban and regional Dawn Services either have been or will be cancelled, because they will likely exceed the 500-person threshold. Please contact your local RSL sub-branch to find out what is happening. We have received a number of suggestions about ways in which we can all commemorate on the day without gathering in large numbers, and will share them with you over the next few weeks. I would like to stress that this is the plan right now, but the situation may well change in the next month if greater restrictions are imposed. Regards, Ian Smith Chair Anzac Day Committee
