24.01.2022 The material world can give you so much. However, there may be times when we don't get a promotion for a while, where higher marks no longer satisfy us, when we don't excel in our career as quick as we'd like etc. These things can make us lose our confidence. In these moments of stagnation, our confidence will have to come from within. I'm going to be reflecting on this for a while, but I assume the first step would be to identify your identity. ... Here's the first question I'm going to ask myself: What do I pride myself upon? Is it my achievements? My grades? My career progression? Or is it subtler? Like my ability to connect with people? And the next question for me is, How can I develop that intrinsic confidence within myself that doesn't rely on my achievements? If you're struggling with this, don't worry, I am too. 21.01.2022 Bitter pill to swallow Our distractions aren’t inherently distractions; It’s our relationship with them that we are labelling. Tik Tok, Netflix, Instagram etc. aren’t inherently distractions. We just label them as distractions because they take our attention away from our studies/work.... So...what does this mean for us? We need to stop blaming our 'distractions' for us not getting our study or work done. When it’s time to be productive, be focused and do not allow your attention to be hijacked by anything outside of what you are meant to be doing. 16.01.2022 Wondering How to Start the School Year Strong? We all know what it feels like to start the school year off with a lot of motivation and hopes to do well. But as the days, weeks and months go on, we find our studies pile up and our will to stay organised wanes and we’re left doing our best with what we can at the last minute. I’m hoping that in these 10 tips, there’ll be at least one thing that will be the game changer for you starting this year off right and will hopefully give you enough to carry yourself through the term/semester and maybe even the year.
06.01.2022 If we focus too much on the goal (big picture), it means that our attention, is not focussed on what we are doing now and is instead focused on a future outcome. When this happens, we can end up feeling anxious, stressed out and intimidated by how much of a difference there is between how we are right now and where we want to be. Be here, right now. Action is in the present so focus on what you got to do today and don't bother thinking too much about the future.... Set your processes so well so that when you strictly follow it - by default you achieve your goal.
