Do not attend your GP clinic. All testing should be performed in a Public Health setting as per State Health Guidelines.

12.01.2022 Coronavirus Information To slow down the spread of the virus and prevent the hospitals running out of beds please follow the following advice from Australian Government Health Department. Social distancing:... One way to slow the spread of viruses is social distancing. staying at home when you are unwell avoiding large public gatherings if they’re not essential keeping a distance of 1.5 metres between you and other people whenever possible minimising physical contact, especially with people at higher risk such as older people and people with existing health conditions Good hygiene: Everyone must practise good hygiene to protect against infection and prevent the virus spreading. covering your coughs and sneezes with your elbow or a tissue disposing of tissues properly washing your hands often with soap and water, including before and after eating and after going to the toilet using alcohol-based hand sanitisers cleaning and disinfecting surfaces if you are sick, avoiding contact with others and staying more than 1.5 metres away from people Respiratory Symptoms: If you have any respiratory symptoms such as: fever a cough sore throat fatigue shortness of breath please stay at home, do not attend work or school. It is still most likely a normal cold and should be managed at home. If you are too unwell and need to see us, please phone and advise of your symptoms and recent travel so necessary precautions can be taken. Overseas travel or COVID19 contact: Please call the Health department ph 13 HEALTH (13 43 25 84) or Hospital immediately if you have the above symptoms and have travelled overseas in the past 14 days or have had contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 coronavirus. 11.01.2022 New recommendations for the COVID vaccination program have been announced with a change to those under 50. The picture shows the potential benefits versus potential harms for various age groups. If you are under 50 and qualify for the COVID vaccination feel free to book in with your GP should you wish to discuss this change further.

11.01.2022 With the increase in cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Australia (thankfully none in NQ as of yet) we need to look at ways to protect our at risk patients. Ingham as you are aware has an ageing population and this is in itself a significant risk for the more serious complications of COVID-19. In an effort to reduce the risk to our patients in our waiting room we would ask for: 1 - If you have recently traveled overseas (within 14 days) AND have any symptom that you DO NOT at...tend our clinic. You may contact our clinic for advice on what to do. 2 - If you have any upper respiratory symptom including sore throat, cough, rhinorrhoea, temp above 37.5 and headaches you DO NOT sit in our waiting room. We would prefer if you could advise the Reception of your symptoms on booking an appointment and on arrival so as we could organise for you to be isolated until reviewed. Until we are through this phase of COVID-19 we will unfortunately be disabling on-line bookings and our check-in station in our reception. This will allow for our receptionists to make all bookings by phone to triage better. This will result in more phone traffic and make it possibly harder to contact our clinic in times of high phone call volume. We apologise for the incovenience and ask for patience when contacting us. We will do our best to keep you safe and well long into the future.

05.01.2022 Hinchinbrook Health Care update re: Coronavirus As the number of virus cases increase worldwide it is worth updating our process. The recommendation is now as follows: If you have traveled overseas to any destination in the last 14 days and have any symptom then you should self isolate. You should either contact the GP clinic or hospital for advice. You should not attend the GP clinic. If you are unwell then you should attend the Emergency Department of the hospital after contacting them to let them know you will be attending.
