08.01.2022 There’s widespread fear, panic and hysteria across the world right now which has no doubt reached into your very own home and hearts. I’m sorry for the world, for each and every one of us that this is happening. It is happening. We can’t escape it, but we can choose our response to it. I’ve been asked by a number of people how to manage those fears and concerns so I thought you might be asking yourself the same question. It is up to each of us as individuals to be aware of o...ur own fears and concerns and to find ways to manage those that don’t create further fear for ourselves or others. This is first and foremost. Of course we can collectively come together (remotely) to support each other so we don’t feel alone, but we must take responsibility for our own feelings first, otherwise we are at risk of inflicting those fears onto others, and we do not want to add to the hysteria that’s spread faster than the coronavirus. Be sensible, but not erratic. Think purposefully and critically, not with endless worry. Know you can only manage what’s within your circle of control - there’s you and your thoughts and actions and then there’s coronavirus and society. You have no control over people outside yourself. That includes individuals, groups and governments. When we experience fear of the unknown, we seek desperately to find steady ground. Your circle of control is that solid space to stand on. The only things right now you can control are: Your thoughts Your feelings Your attitude Your responses Your choices Your actions Your hygiene Everything else that’s happening across the world due to the coronavirus YOU CANNOT CONTROL. So surrender. Soften your grip on them and turn your attention to the things you CAN control. These ones you can absolutely influence and determine. THIS is where your power is. Right now we need to feel powerful. We need to feel like we are doing something that’s helping us and those around us.
