23.01.2022 Calendula (Calendula officinalis) Anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antibacterial, antiseptic herb. Externally is used for burns, cuts and bruises, skin inflammation and as wound dressing. It can be used as mouthwash for gums, mucous membranes and throat. Internally can assist healing of stomach ulcers and gastrointestinal infections. It can assist lowering of blood lipids and cholesterol. It can be eaten fresh in salads. Dried flower macerated for 2-3 weeks in coconut oil or lard makes a fresh and handy ointment for external use. It is a beautiful and useful herb to grow in your gardens :)
21.01.2022 As a spice and medicinal herb, Tumeric has been used in India for thousands of years. Curcumin is the main active ingredient in turmeric and has powerful anti-inflammatory effects and is a very strong antioxidant. Scientists now believe that chronic, low-level inflammation plays a major role in almost every chronic disease. This includes heart disease, cancer, metabolic syndrome, Alzheimer's and various degenerative conditions such as arthritis. Many studies proven tumeric’s ...strong anti-inflammatory effect comparable to some of anti-inflammatory drugs without the side effects. Tumeric can be added to our pet’s diet in powder or as a ‘golden paste’ as mixed with small amount of oil or fat will be better absorbed by the body. Golden Paste: 1 cup warm water 1/2 cup turmeric powder 1/3 coconut oil table spoon grounded pepper Melt all ingredients on a small heat, pour in the jar, let settle and keep in the fridge. Mix in food once daily start with small amount tip of the tea spoon and build up dose up to a tea spoon for smaller dogs and 2-3 teaspoons for large breeds. Cats maybe more resistance to take turmeric and it can be mixed in a small amount with more smelly ‘fishy’ meals.
20.01.2022 Little Rascal is 17 years young and has been receiving acupuncture treatments on regular basis for past few months. She started to show signs of a tired cat losing interest in lots of things and not be able to negotiate stairs or jump on the bed. With acupuncture and Antinol treatments, she actually runs upstairs now and with aid of a step settles back on her favorite bed. She decided to become an ambassador for the positive outlook of 'Today (and every other day) Is A Good Day' and invites her friends to become her followers :)
16.01.2022 Gracie - a cuddly affectionate 9 year young female desexed microchipped vet checked cat is looking for a new loving home. She is very loving and timid and not coping well in multiple cats household. She would love to find a quiet family with no other pets. May be suitable for a couple or a single person looking for an affectionate companion. Please contact Martina on 0407871165 if you'd like to give Gracie a new home.
15.01.2022 I had a different animal to treat today. A young deer got caught and tangled in our fence and needed to be rescued. She was bit stressed for acupuncture treatment and let me treat and bandage her cut on her leg and give her couple of needles. At this moment she is resting in our safely closed orchard making friends with our pet sheep. All goes well she will be free in a day or two again.

12.01.2022 The timeless Thyme 'Thymus vulgaris': Thyme essential oil is an extremely potent antioxidant, supporting the digestive, nervous, immune, and respiratory system. It is loaded with thymol, one of the naturally occurring biocides which destroy detrimental organisms. Thyme is known for its strong anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and antioxidant properties. Thyme also contains large amount of iron per its weight ratio. Thyme contains 6.1 mg of iron per 5 grams (daily recommended i...ntake by the National Health Institute for an adult is 8-18mg). It can be prepared as a tea, used as a spice, or simply used as an addition to a healthy diet based on fruits, veggies, and whole foods.
12.01.2022 Young roosters to a new home. There are 5 young roosters available to find a new home with a flock of hens. Most are white one with orange and black markings - ...quite handsome. Hatched by a rescued hen. Quite friendly, some already eating their afternoon snacks from our hands. Will appreciate $10 as donation to the Foundation for each. Also 5 white young white hen pullets to find a new home - Would prefer if they found home as the flock and can separate if necessary. $15 donation will be appreciated for each. 11.01.2022 Kasha has been coming for her acupuncture for almost 2 years now. During the time she decided that she is most comfortable to receive her treatment at the back of her 'mum's' car and it works well for both of us.
09.01.2022 Mandy came in with acute respiratory issue. She accepted the acupuncture needles really well and improved rapidly after the first treatment. On third treatment she was all well and back to her inquisitory herself. :)
07.01.2022 We extended help to another farm animal. This hen was rescued from a dog's mouth. After the treatment she was recovering in the back yard - and in gratitude presented us with 12 cute 'balls of fluff' :) Definitely a proud mum. :)
04.01.2022 Acupuncture works well for many conditions in horses too.
03.01.2022 Acupuncture can be applied to all creatures. I have been treating one of young roosters for sore swollen 'hock' joint. All treatment is happening 'after hours' at night when he is calmer being handled.
02.01.2022 Chamomile (Matricaria recutita) Chamomile tea is great as mild sedative (any time of the day and especially before sleep). It is anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic spasmolytic - gut cramps and assists with flatulence. Easy to grow, easy to harvest and dry and easy to make the tea. Dogs and cats are accepting it very well (start with very mild) - can have 1/4 to full cup daily (size depended) and they seem to drinking it straight and it can be mixed in food with still the same effects.
