23.01.2022 The storm cells that hit #SpringfieldLakes and #Springfield yesterday have caused significant damage to homes and vehicles. At this time, the SES has received 1...,195 calls for assistance and are working through these as quickly as they can. Energex has also reported over 3,074 homes in Springfield Lakes are without power at this time. There are SES and Rural Fire Brigade crews from across SEQ arriving to help out which is just amazing but it will take a few days to reach everyone. If you can check in on neighbours, family and friends over the next day - that will be really helpful. The YMCA Springfield Lakes Community Centre has been set up as a drop-in centre in Springfield Lakes (where people can recharge phones/devices and get a hot meal) - 53 Springfield Lakes Blvd, Springfield Lakes. Here are some key numbers: Life threatening emergency: 000 SES Assistance: 13 25 00 Energex Power outages - 13 62 62 Energex Fallen power lines/ electric shocks - 13 19 62

02.01.2022 **Springfield Lakes Storm Recovery Fundraiser Update 13/11** So today I wanted to give you all a quick update as to where we are with our fundraiser. So far thanks to 38 individuals and local businesses we've raised $2720 - nowhere near the $45,000 I was hoping to raise to move 100 families, but nevertheless this money has been able to help families move into temporary accommodation while their homes were deemed unlivable....While I was advised the average cost to move a family was somewhere around $450, I have been able to negotiate an even lower rate with two removalist companies. Both SS Removals and Those Local Guys have charged me just $420 to move three families so far - this rate is purely for the fundraiser - so please don't ask them to move you for this super low rate.So a big shout out to Those Local Guys who moved a family from Swallowtail for us on Sunday and SS Removals who not only moved countless number of families completely free of charge in the first week following the storm but has also moved two families for us this week - one from Laguna Cres and one from Apollo Place just this morning. In addition, SS Removals also hired a truck for 3 days (last Thursday, Friday and Sunday) at a total cost of $750 which the fundraiser paid for and over these 3 days, SS Removals helped as many people as they could to move their belongings. So just a quick recap - so far the community has raised $2720 and we have spent $2010 moving families. There have also been $71.24 in fees charged via the platform used for the fundraiser. That leaves us with another $638.76 to still help local families. I'd love to get this amount to $840 so we can help another 2 families move. Also just a quick shout out to our biggest donators. Andy from Gingko Fitouts (local construction company) donated $500 (full disclosure he is my partner) and Beau Miller from Beautique Realty (local realty company) donated $450. You guys are awesome. There is still time to donate and there are still families who need help.gf.me/u/y7irhh
