24.01.2022 Hampers! How good are Gift Hampers! Here's a few I put together recently. Do you need a Gift Hamper in your life? Why not make it your next gift option, they're always a winner! The first one was making it's way to Scotland for a precious new bubba. Full of Aussie goodies! The second one was a thank you gift, tailor made with everything peppermint. 24.01.2022 I recently had a conversation about when to dust. Specifically before or after vacuuming. Many, if not most people advocate for vacuuming first then dusting and for good logic. The vacuume stirs up dust into the air so it makes sense to dust surfaces afterwards. Other people like to dust first, as dusting also stirs up dust only to resettle on the floor you have just vacuumed and most likely mopped. ... It's a conundrum. To be honest either way is a personal preference, at the end of the day your house is still going to be clean. I do however have a solution, a product that I love and have been using for almost 10 years. Pledge Grab-it Electrostatic Dusting Cloths. These beauties are a dusting delight! I've used plain old cloths before and also special dust sprays with cloths..... but they're not perfect or ideal. For me nothing compares to these, they grab and hold the dust like magic - Electrostatic magic Which means you're not sending dust up into your lovely breathing space or just spreading it around. 24.01.2022 Happy hump day! How's your week shaping up? If it's like mine it's cray'cray'Crazy! My wonderful in-laws are making their way down under from Bonnie Scotland as I type we are all super excited! They're not here till the weekend but between now and then it's going to be epic around here. I'm like the rest of you, visitors coming to stay? The house must be spotless, every nook and cranny, every cupboard etc etc (pssst it's not going to happen) reality is I have children... who like to do their best tornado impressions on an hourly basis. Mother nature has given up on the toy room. So while I am flat out cleaning my own house today and a clients, I'm not going to sweat the little things, like the toys and making sure my linen closet is on point. Oh did I mention my youngest is having his tonsils and adenoids out tommorrow? Yeah my week is a cracker! We also have presents that need purchasing, a party that needs attending and multiple people popping over at random times to buy random stuff I decided to sell because we have too much STUFF! Sigh..... Let's stop for a second to make a coffee OK, where was I? Oh right! Yes, procrastinating by writing this post thus avoiding my house work and ensuring I have a melt down this evening when I haven't achieved all that I wanted. Note I didn't say what I 'needed' to achieve, because let's be real.... we live in our houses, we do life in them, toy throwing, food flicking wonderful memory making life in them. Still, it can get overwhelming and it can feel like it's too much to face on your own. I would LOVE another me, someone to give my list of chores to. It's essentially why I began 'hire a Mummy'. Because I am not the only one who wishes upon that far off star and thinks wouldn't it be nice. We'll it is nice! It's wonderful! You actually can have another you, me!! Your very own domestic personal assistant. And you need not worry about me and how busy I am, truth is I need the exercise, I need to get out of my house, I need to interact with adults and I love helping others. Also my beautiful mum is about to move in with us for a little bit, so I will literally have my own 'mummy' here to help around the house while I crack on with other things. BOOM! How's them apples! 20.01.2022 Did you know Hire a Mummy likes to gift wrap? It's a not so secret passion of mine Like is probably not even the right word to use, I LOVE it! A LOT! It's one of my happy places. Of late I have had the utmost pleasure and joy to gift wrap a few special gifts for people. ... Yes!! It's just one of the many things hire a Mummy can do for you. As much as I LOVE it, I know people who just HATE gift wrapping. I think I must have been at the front of the line when gift wrapping was handed out as a talent . If you have a special event coming up that you have to buy a special gift for but know that wrapping isn't your strong suit. 19.01.2022 It's Sunday Fun day! We're off to explore some Scottish culture in the hills, what are you doing to cap off the school holidays? A BIG FYI...... 17.01.2022 Forget about making lemonade when your day could do with a re run. Some days a hot coffee and delicious Anzacs straight out of the oven are what's really needed. They're like a warm snuggly hug. Lets face it you still have to do the school run, you can hug your wine later tonight. Going the extra mile, putting in that little bit extra doesn't cost anything, and usually very little effort and time. I don't believe in bare minimums, if I see something that would benefit my client and it's within my ability to do it, then I will. Like cleaning a pendant light. Was it asked to be do...ne? 10.01.2022 We are in this together! Hire a Mummy has a new team member Jane, ready to help out during these uncertain times. As a Domestic Personal Assistant Business we can clean for you or help you out with all manner of in home domestic help. We can also do shopping for you and run errands. Pick shopping up and deliver it to you. If you have a need because you are self isolating Jane is here to help you out.... We are particularly concerned for the older community who are feeling the restrictions of not being able to go about their daily lives. 07.01.2022 Wow it has been so long since my last post! I'm sitting in the car after school drop off with a few extra minutes to spare before I head off for todays first appointment. Today I am cleaning and helping a family sort and pack for moving house. I love that what I get to do is varied and that hire a Mummy helps with such a broad range of things. June is almost over, I can't believe we are half way through 2019 ... Which means that time is almost up for locking in hire a mummy's $30hr deal until the end of this year. As of July 1st our hourly rate will be moving to $35hr. So get in quick and secure a spot before june runs out! Until then everyone stay warm! Mel. Hire a Mummy is a Domestic Personal Assistant business, while house cleaning is part of what we do it's not all, there's so much more! We iron, do laundry, change and remake beds, re organose pantries, linen closets, wardrobes. We can even do the shopping for you and put it all away. 05.01.2022 The holidays are coming!!! What are your plans? We'll be busy staycationing at home, finishing off a shed build and eeking out some special time with the kids... parks, parks, parks, a movie trip and more parks. If you're lucky you might be off to sunny shores and some sand between your toes or maybe snow is your thing this time of year!?! Whatever your pleasure it's not much fun to come home to a messy house or an empty fridge or pantry. But do not fret! Hire a Mummy... will save the day! When I was little whenever we went away on holidays my mum always insisted on leaving a clean house to come back to. Because the last thing you want to do on your return is to be smacked in the face with a house to clean. You will most likely have a few loads of washing to do as it is. Then (depending on how long you've been gone) there's the lack of food in the house to contend with and potentially hungry kids who just... won't.... let.... up.... about their hungry tummies. Bless their cotton socks So to make your holidays the best they can be and kick your stress levels to the curb, I have devised a holiday special! Over the holiday break I have a few free spots available to clean your house and also pop a few essentials in your fridge and pantry on your return. For us that would look like: Bread Milk Eggs Ham Cheese Coffee.....always coffee! I know supermarkets deliver but you've got to be there and they don't put it away for you, but I can! Whatever you need it's no hassle. The best bit is you will come home relaxed knowing your house is clean and you don't have to rush to the supermarket. I'll dust, vac and mop, freshen up your bathroom and even fold the 'tp' into a nice V so you still have those holidays feels I'll even iron so your work and or school shirts are at the ready. 01.01.2022 These are certainly surreal times we are experiencing. Covid-19 enough already! We have some extra spots for cleaning or domestic home help with our team member Jane. If you are keen to get your house sorted for a potential lock down, please message your interest as spots are limited. We are especially mindful of the older generation at this time and the extra help they might be needing to feel more secure. Jane is a lovely, warm and caring hire a Mummy team member and she... is ready to help.
