24.01.2022 CONGRATULATIONS to the Sculptures in the Garden 2020 Peoples Choice Winner: Catherine Caldwell for her artwork, ‘Ava’ Ava is made mainly from scrap metal. Being... a dancer, I wanted to create a sense of movement in my work not just have her in a dance pose, hence the wispy additions. @catherinecaldwellart @ambercreative * * * * * #sculpture #sculptures #sculptureinthegarden #sculptureexhibition #destinationnsw #mudgee #mudgeeregion #publicart #artgallery #rosbywines #rosbysculptures #rosbysculpturesinthegarden #newsouthwales #visitnsw #ilovensw #restaurantaustralia #seeaustralia #seeaustralia_nsw #artforsale #buyfromthebush See more

17.01.2022 This whole lock-down thing has been awful......I enjoy our Visitors to Beverley House. They come from everywhere and during isolation.......I can tell you it was a bit lonely. BUT ever since it was announced that isolation measures have been loosened [if thats even a word] we have been inundated with bookings.....AND IM LOVING IT..... Just to let you know that the wipe down measures have increased [if thats possible]. Sanitiser at the door and just thoughtful distancing. John and I enjoy our guests and with the help of Margaret we the super Cleaner/Organizer/Army General we survive the chaos.....so come on up to Mudgee and relax and enjoy

17.01.2022 Caution - lengthy post, but worth the read! Weve been focusing on adapting our business the the new normal over the past couple of weeks but wanted to give ...you an update on how were doing. There have been lots of ups and downs in the past 25+ years of Vinifera but 2020 has presented some memorable (to say the least) challenges. The ongoing drought saw a decreased yield in the vineyard, yet the quality of the fruit was superb. The devastating bushfires resulted in smoke taint damage and an entire vintage was lost, yet our town was not in the course of fires, our home is standing and our loved ones are safe. Then COVID-19 hit and we must admit, it became harder to find a yet. But thats the thing about challenges, as hard as they may be at the time, they help us reflect and learn. We cant wait to get back to business as usual when the time is right but for now we are spending our time reflecting on the past 25+ years of this journey, learning from the challenges weve faced along the way and planning for the bright future ahead. While were enjoying the down time we are still taking online, phone and email orders! If your looking to buy wine during these next few weeks and months (and beyond!) we urge you to consider buying locally, buying direct and buying your #winefromthebush. And if not from Vinifera, check out the many other exceptional wines from producers across the #mudgeeregion at www.mudgeewine.com.au/wine-from-the-bush Thank you to all those family, friends and loyal customers who have and continue to support us along the way. We hope everyone is staying safe, healthy and most importantly staying at home. This will pass and when that time comes lets all enjoy a wine together! See more

13.01.2022 Around Mudgee, NSW The first European settlers arrived in Mudgee in 1821, finding good grazing lands on the banks of the Cudgegong River. The name Mudgee is der...ived from the Wiradjuri term Moothi meaning "Nest in the Hills" or "mou-gee" meaning "contented". The village of Mudgee was gazetted in 1838 and within a couple of years, the village had 36 slab dwellings, three hotels, a post office, Anglican church, police lock-up and a couple of stores. There was a gold rush in the district from the 1850s and while no gold was found in Mudgee itself, Mudgee was a centre for the local goldfields, and the town prospered and grew rapidly as a result. Reflecting the importance and prosperity of the town, the Municipality of Mudgee and the surrounding rural Municipality of Cudgegong were both proclaimed in 1860. Many fine buildings were erected, remodelled and enlarged, seemingly with a case of one upmanship between opposing businesses! When the gold rush finished, agriculture became the main industry for the district and these days, that includes a booming wine industry with vineyards lining the hills in the surrounding areas. Mudgee has a rich heritage of well-preserved buildings, in a variety of architectural styles, lining the streets of the town. It is not the sort of town you can just pass through without missing out on so much. I stayed the weekend with my wife, which meant I was able to get up early to take my photos, (mostly) avoiding cars and people in my shots! Then, of course, theres also the winery tours to fit in the schedule :) See more

04.01.2022 With the recent COVID-19 challenges in our community, we know many of you are keen to be updated on the plans for Flavours of Mudgee 2020. Council is currently... in the process of reviewing two possible dates for Flavours; the original date of Saturday 26 September and an alternative of Saturday 21 November. Flavours can only proceed if State and Federal Government health orders permit and our team can deliver a safe and enjoyable event. We remain hopeful that we can deliver our premier event this year but until then we thank you for your patience and understanding as we work on making the best decision for our stallholders, patrons and community. - The Flavours of Mudgee Team
