We are getting ready to open back up to our guests soon, which will include Sunday afternoons when you can visit us (watch this space for booking details and opening dates), the upcoming 2020 Small Museums and Galleries Conference, and a Care and Conservation seminar! Next Thursday 15 October AICCM accredited conservator Melanie Fihelly will be holding a Care and Conservati...on training seminar at Historic Ormiston House! This will be a wonderful time to discover the causes of deterioration in your collection, antiques or treasures, and find the best ways to clean and store your collection! This event is supported by Griffith University and we are delighted to be able to share such a wonderful event with the community. The best part is that this is a stand-alone event - so even if you are not a conference delegate, you can still purchase tickets to this event! Tickets are only $80 per person and include light refreshments on registration, the seminar with Melanie and lunch at beautiful Historic Ormiston House. 01.01.2022 After an extended COVID closure we are absolutely delighted to be able to welcome guests back to Historic Ormiston House on Sunday 15 November, 2020! Please note, WE ARE NOT OPEN EVERY SUNDAY and you must request a booking at this link: http://ormistonhouse.org.au/visitor-infor/request-a-ticket/ As a solely volunteer-run community organisation that is operating under a COVID Safe plan, we are currently only open on select Sundays. Gates will open at 12 noon, and the latest t...ime to enter into the grounds is 3pm. Guests can remain in the grounds until 4pm. We will publicize our next open day on our website and social media channels. Historic Ormiston House is a COVID Safe site. Relevant guest contact details and entry/exit times will be recorded for contact tracing purposes. Hand sanitizer and hand washing facilities are available on site for guest and volunteer staff use when required, and we must ask that you observe social distancing measures while on the grounds. Signs are in place to tell you how many people can be in each room of the House, and to show you the direction to walk around the House. If you are unwell, displaying any symptoms of COVID-19, or do not wish to abide by our COVID Safe Plan, we will unfortunately have to ask that you do not enter the grounds. We know this process is very different to the Ormiston House you are used to, as pre-bookings for a Sunday afternoon were previously not required, and refreshments must now be enjoyed in specific seating times. However, this will allow us to monitor the numbers of people on site and abide by COVID Safe requirements.
