17.01.2022 The V.C. Corner Australian Cemetery and Memorial is a Commonwealth War Graves Commission World War I cemetery and memorial. It lies west of the village of Fromelles and contains the remains of more than 400 soldiers whose bodies were recovered two years after the armistice from the battlefield.

01.01.2022 Victor Roy Swann (Roy) (3rd Light Horse Regiment) enlisted on 26 August 1914 in Morphettville, South Australia. On 22 October he embarked on HMAT Port Lincoln in Adelaide. One of the lucky ones, Roy returned to Australia and was eventually discharged with the rank of Lieutenant on 23 February, 1919.



01.01.2022 Lieutenant Colin Aiston enlisted on July 5 1915 aged 20. Shot in the leg and hip, he died of his wounds on 22 September 1917 aged 22. His grave is amongst 243 Australians at Boulougne Eastern Cemetery, France.
