23.01.2022 Today is International Women's Day, a day recognising women in leadership roles On Friday, the histology community wished a happy retirement to one of it's strongest leaders. Many have had the pleasure of knowing and working with Deb at some stage over her 40+ years in histology. Deb finished her career as the Anatomical Pathology Executive Manager at Clinpath. We thank her for all her expertise and guidance and wish her all the best in her future endeavours... one being spending more time with her grandson TJ. Looking forward to her daughter, HGSA Committee Member Bec also returning to work soon

04.01.2022 This little champion Dorian is raising money through Variety - the Children’s Charity International for children living with hair loss conditions such as alopecia Primary alopecia of the scalp is divided into 2 groups - scarring and non-scarring. Adequate tissue sampling (ideally 2x 4mm skin punches), grossing and processing are key to diagnosis. A vertical (longitudinal) sectioned punch biopsy assesses alopecias with interface changes, lichenoid infiltrates and subcutan...eous pathology. However, this sectioning only shows 10% of present hair follicles. A transverse (horizontal) sectioned biopsy shows follicular pathology (including focal) and quantitative follicular cycling data Dorian will be chopping off 35.5cm of his own beautiful hair on Friday 16th October Port Adelaide Baseball Club Come along and show your support and help him get to his goal of $5000!
