24.01.2022 Problem: Added second monitor but when computer boots up, second monitor is the boot monitor and also is the lock screen monitor, but I want the first monitor to be the boot monitor or default/main monitor. Resolution 1: If it's an NVidia Display card open NVidia Control Panel and you will see 2 monitors in the app with an asterix on one monitor. This identifies the default monitor. To change defult monitor to monitor 1, right click on monitor 1 and select "Make Primary". Click "Apply" Resolution 2: Open Win 10 Settings, Select System, Select Display, Select the display you want to make default. Scroll down to bottom of page and select checkbox "Make this my main display".

22.01.2022 Want a word processing or spreadsheet program but don't want to fork out money for them. Well there a couple of options Option 1 is Open Office https://www.openoffice.org/ which includes word processor, spreadsheet, database, presentation, drawing and mathematical equation writer, and is compatible with Microsoft Office applications. It also is installed directly on to your PC. Option 2 is Google Docs/Sheets/Slides/Forms https://www.google.com/docs/about/ which is free for ...personal use and all docs are stored on the cloud as it is an online version so you can access them from anywhere across devices. Option 3 is WPS Office https://www.wps.com/ which is also free but does have a premium version which gives you more features and cloud space. 15.01.2022 Had a couple of jobs this week where both customers were unable to connect their printers to their new TPG Archer VR1600v router using the push button method or WPS. The main reason they were unable to do this is that on this router WPS is disabled by default but you can turn it on. 14.01.2022 The navigation bar on my android phone a Motorola Pure XT1575 stopped working today where the circle, square and triangle would not respond when touched. To try and fix it I turned it off and on, soft reset, uninstalled a lot of apps, deleted the cache, I also notice my phone is getting hot - nothing seemed to fix it. I then switched from Google and installed Microsoft Launcher and now it works fine. I'm thinking of reverting back to the default launcher to see if changing... the launcher fixed the Google Launcher. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details Later on for no apparent reason reason the navigation bar stopped working again. I switched back to Google now launcher an it didn't help. Then I decided to remove the battery and removing the battery from this phone is not as easy as a Samsung phone as the back cover is glued down over the phone. So I peeled back the back cover and disconnected the battery and reconnected it. Put the back cover on again and now the navigation buttons are working.

06.01.2022 I have some customers who prefer Windows Live Mail 2012 on their Windows 10 computer for their email (even though Microsoft no longer supports it) as they don't like Windows 10 Mail or Microsoft Outlook not to mention Outlook costs money. Lately I have been having issues when installing Windows Essentials 2012 specifically Windows Live Mail and it seems to get stuck at 63% in the progress bar. It seems to finish but then it has an error "Couldn't install programs. An unknow...n error occurred. Error 0x800c0006." if you click on "close" an then open the Windows Live Mail program it seems to work and lets you add and email address but you get another errror "Failed to initialise shared canvas etc." I tried various solutions uninstalling the antivirus program reinstalling Net Framework 3.0, deleting registry keys etc but the solution was quite simple in the end. I uninstalled it again and the unplugged the internet and reinstalled Windows Essentials 2012 and NO PROBLEMS! YEAH! Just unplugging the internet fixed the problem and of course you can reconnect the internet once it is installed. You can no longer download Windows Live Mail/Windows Essentials from Microsoft but send me a message and I will send you a link to the offline installer. 03.01.2022 An update for Windows 10 last week is causing some computers to bluescreen when printing with this error "APC INDEX MISMATCH" referring to file win32kfull.sys. 02.01.2022 Recently had an issue with a new computer when connecting wirelessly to new Telstra Smart Modem Gen 2. As soon as I type in the password for the Wi-Fi network the mouse freezes and then goes to the Blue Screen of Death with message "DPC Watchdog Violation". The fix for this is to go to the modem login page on another computer, select Wi-Fi and turn off Wi-Fi PMF which stands for Protected Management Frames. This fixed the issue.
