11.01.2022 Thanks for your prayers regarding our accommodation. It’s very tough finding furnished places in Mareeba, so we were amazed when we got a call from the local Anglican Church warden offering us the use of their manse till next June. COVID has delayed the new vicar arriving, and the house needs looking after. The rent is within our budget and we are feeling very blessed! A definite miracle!

06.01.2022 Hello friends. Please would you take a moment to think of me today and tomorrow? It’s the final step in my Commercial Pilots Licence, the practical test. Today I have half a day to plan my flight, then three hours of oral questions about any aspect of the theory component, questions specific to the aircraft I will be flying for the test and questions concerning the route we will fly. Tomorrow will be a 3-4 hr flight test, covering all aspects of aircraft handling, navigation ...with and without technology - yes, we have to be able to get the plane there with no modern gadget help at all - same way they first flew 100 yrs ago. Tomorrow’s test also has a full range of emergency scenarios and various instrument failures. One big part of the process is evaluating my decision making, especially around weather. The forecast looks somewhat challenging for tomorrow. This really is the culmination of all the exams I’ve been doing whilst here, and I’m so grateful for all your support thus far.
