25.01.2022 The old casual pay bucket, 13 years it’s sat on the counter of the gym. It baffles many business people how you can run a business not knowing who pays and who doesn’t! Answer simple I run a boxing club not a business. Obviously things have changed in the past 13 years and our partnership with Bendigo Blue Light the old bucket is almost obsolete. The blue light offer memberships to youth that might have trouble paying the gym fees making sure that everyone has access to our awesome facility and programs. 22.01.2022 Tomorrow we are back to full swing.... With over 700 Sq meters of weights, fitness and boxing area we can finally open up our memberships and get back to what we do best. We are a sports club so, Youth and Adult boxing will begin back tomorrow night. Competitions will start early February, so if you are keen now is the perfect time to start.

19.01.2022 We give him heaps of stick but this young bloke is a legend. He chopped his wig last night to raise money for cancer, he could of done it around a fire with mates for shit and giggles, but that’s not his nature, it’s to help others. It was a ripping night down at the golden square hotel, he set out to raise $500 and I’m certain over $6k was raised. Thanks to all from the hit factory that contributed. You will be a multitasker, the position is as follows but not limited to. Daily running of our Bluelight Cafe Social media and marketing of the Youth club. ... Inquiries, memberships and admin. Reports and community liaising. To be successful you need to be a self starter, have computer knowledge, coffee skills is an advantage but everything can be learnt on the job. You will be the first person that everyone see’s and talks to, so presentation and communication skills are important. 20 hours per week to start. Commencing end of January. 13.01.2022 That’s the year done!! No big celebrations and I’m not going to lie we were almost done, covid almost got us. I went back to work and realised I can make more money and be home by 4pm. Something that I hadn’t done in 13 years. I was going to set up something small at home and concentrate on boxers only. I was reminded why we do what we do and no amount of money can replace it. So we are back pushing on and doing what we do best.... That being said We can’t miss our annual awards. Boxing is the hardest sport to prepare for, the dedication you must put yourself through with an upcoming bout alone. Imagine what it is like when you don’t know when your next fight will be! Most would stop and have a break!! Two hit factory boxers pushed through the pandemic, not taking their foot off the pedal and trained daily. Turning up at 6am outdoors, rain, hail or shine, riding a push bike then heading home for online schooling. Never missing a Boxing Vic session and showing their dedication to be ready the second they are able to compete. Our clubman award is about keeping the hit factory spirit. Lucky we had someone to take charge run all online sessions, push through the outdoor session and keep all our members engaged when the coach was ready to quit! Making sure when we had restrictions lifted we were ready to go! Our clubman award isn’t just about hit factory commitment it’s about community involvement. A Selfless act of raising $7500 for charity and pulling off a good social event for a local hotel that had also suffered from closures. All well deserved winners of our perpetual awards. 11.01.2022 Love looking back at all the old fight DVD’s and fight books. The sport has a lot of jokers talking about this that and who’s better than who but wether you had one fight or one hundred fights you still ahead of lots and should be proud win or lose. But if you still live vicariously through old sparring and fight DVD’s let go, past is past. There’s a new generation and if you’re not in with them you’ll get blown over like the dust on the dvds. #noexcuse #letgo

06.01.2022 @slim.sheldon can’t wait to see you all Hopefully we can hold on to this re-opening longer. Monday 21st Outdoor Bootcamps will resume. Maximum of 10 participants, so it is super important to book via the gym portal. (if you can send Sheldon a message you can book via the gym schedule)... Its a perfect time of the year to train outside, we are setting up an outdoor area with bags and cover so we can do all the things we love to do. You can enter via the front door (wearing masks) going through the boxing arena out to the back roller door. For cleaning and covid safety if you have a large towel or yoga style mat for any floor exercises you and you only can use this will help eliminate any unwanted transmissions. Now you can! It can take years to get ready for a real boxing match, the life dedication it takes just for 20 minutes.... We simplify this and make it possible around your busy schedule. We take a group, we train together we learn to box, we spar, our coaches watch who is progressing faster than others and who is evenly paired. We choose the matchups on ability. After 12 weeks we get all our friends and family together and hold as close to the real thing as you can get. Ring announcer, dj, fight walk out songs, all the flashing lights. With modified rules for safety you go toe to toe with someone from the group. 05.01.2022 Phil has been involved in kickboxing for a very long time he had a very successful gym and as all combat sports trainers know,life balances and running a gym is very hard. I told him whenever he wanted to return we would welcome them to use our space and keep kickboxing alive in bendigo. If you want to learn Muay Thai hit him up.

03.01.2022 As there has been a few more Covid cases in Bendigo. Please do the right thing, a second closure to our little community club will be detrimental. We will recommence session Monday, they will be shortened by 10 minutes so Staff can can wipe everything down. If you are training by yourself please limit the equipment you use and ensure you wipe all equipment used with the spray and paper towel provided.

03.01.2022 Great to be able to get out to one of the Gyms sponsors. We are a mobile coffee van and are always looking for events to attend. Tomorrow we are back home at the gym 7-11am.

02.01.2022 Just as a precaution if you are a student from Catherine McAuley or St Joseph’s please do not attend the gym. I know we have members from both schools so to avoid being closed down again we will be extra cautious and I ask that you please stay home until advised. BREAKING: TWO CASES OF COVID-19 AT #BENDIGO SCHOOLS... A student at Catherine McAuley College in #Bendigo and a staff member at St Joseph’s Primary School #QuarryHill have tested positive to Covid-19. Holy Rosary in #Heathcote will also close as a precautionary measure due to a connection to one of the positive cases.
