24.01.2022 Dear friends, As the year limps to a close, our world continues to drift along in a COVID haze. We are united across borders and oceans by the truth of an altered rhythm of life. We are breathing through fabric and living life through Perspex barricades. ‘Social distancing’ and ‘community transmission’ are phrases occurring as part of our everyday parlance. The alterations are somewhat jarring to the freedoms and peace we have known in our country. We have navigated the same ...Continue reading

18.01.2022 Hello everyone, things are getting back to normal at the surgery in terms of being able to sell some items to raise funds for AAF!! We hope the succulents will be back soon and more handmade Greeting cards, beautiful value at $2 each. Our newest initiative is the sale of a limited number of $20 food bags. All the food in the bags have been donated so this is 100% profit to AAF and good value for anyone who purchases!! BUT even better is the food that this $20 purchases in Af...rica, where life is so difficult at the moment due to COVID shutdown and the effects of the drought! (See list of food items this provides in the photo!) This is a win-win situation, a bag of food for you and a very special bag of food for a family in Africa. So next time you visit Schwarz Family Practice, look out for a book, a beautiful hand knitted item for a baby or child or for $5, there are Tea Bag holders, perfect for a gift for someone's bag or brief case! All these items have been made and donated with love. Hope to see you browsing! PS please take a money box for your spare change, to take home or to work and return it to the surgery. And don't forget to pick up a copy of the latest Newsletter if you haven't received one by email.

15.01.2022 It’s been a tough couple of months for us all here. Imagine living in a remote village without running water, electricity and soap, let alone alcohol sanitiser, face masks or disinfectant. With our interns and Vusi in level 5 lockdown unable to leave their huts or tend the gardens food scarcity is our biggest concern. We are having to hire trucks and use police escorts to get food to the starving villages. They are using the Caronavirus buckets to help explain the virus to th...e poor and hungry who have no testing kits or doctors to help. If you can, in these hard times, please donate via our website to help us feed those in need this winter who are isolated in a mud huts rather than a warm home with wifi, food delivery services and Netflix. 08.01.2022 Thanks to the generosity of some supporters, AAF can sell a limited number of food bags, containing the food we enjoy, which will provide a bag of food that our friends in Africa desperately need.

07.01.2022 Friends, This week, Australia and South Africa both reached a Covid milestone. While Australia surpassed 8000 Covid cases (total). Sth Africa also passed 8000 Covid Cases..... only theirs was a daily total! Our team in rural S.A. are working tirelessly to reach the most vulnerable with much needed support, while also jumping into action with a constant flow of new ideas and initiatives in response to the rampant spread of the virus.... This photo shows one of the men involved with AAF in Africa sewing washable face masks for use in otherwise forgotten rural communities

01.01.2022 Over 120 supporters of AAF were invited to a celebration and thanksgiving at Burnham Grove in Camden for the work of AAF in South Africa. It was a fabulous afternoon hosted by the Schwarz family and the generosity of Burnham Grove together with the musical talent of Colin Buchanan. The highlight had to be Dr Matthew Gray being dressed as a Mummy wrapped in toilet paper to the accompaniment of Colin singing the Mummy Song!! Delicious food and surroundings were enjoyed by all.
