21.01.2022 Dex makes it real hard not to ask for the long spot when he jumps like this with one Dex in the 120 last Saturday at the first @k1wines () AHSJC Wirrina SJ Spectacular! He was really good in the 110 and the first half of the 120 here, but then we were both feeling weak in the second half and we went from getting all long spots like this to then chipping and it was meSSY. I think he still just wasn’t feeling 100% from the abscess, however he went clear and came 2nd still

20.01.2022 I’ve barely had one lesson over the last year and yet today was the 3rd lesson I’ve had in the last week It’s been good diving back into it! I finally feel like I’m actually getting riding and jumping fit again! Dex jumped well but was super forward, and @miaherzogeventing rode Jez and did a great job! I’ve been also breaking in the new Antares saddle (not that I really needed to) and it is insane what a saddle does for your position! #dexterhoss

20.01.2022 Little Jeri filling in for Dex last weekend out SJ while he was out with a hoof abscess. Considering the little guys weakness in eventing is the show jumping, he was pretty good! - went double clear in the 105 and had two in the 115 (which is the biggest track he’s gone around for over a year, so was happy with how he went, despite the rails (+ he did it all bitless again!)) @captionthisequineimages

20.01.2022 It’s been a long road with this one but it’s amazing how much a lot of time off does for a horse that has had a full on early life. I got Pinot as a 3yo and he’d already raced twice with two separate owners and trainers, gone to a hacking/show home and then sold again after he was deemed too ugly () to my trainer where I then rode him for some months to train him up for eventing/show jumping, before I fell in love with his balance and trainability and attitude and I bought h...im. He got the entirety of last year off after we discovered his kissings and now this year he’s come back stronger and more sound than ever after a few months of 6 days a week of lunging rehab. It really shows that sometimes horses just need time to heal and mature. I tried to rehab him so many times last year and he always went lame. However after a solid 6+ months of nothing but being in a paddock, he has become sound and strong, and he hasn’t had any issues at all since I began working him consistently in April! #pinothoss See more

16.01.2022 First proper jump back literally since March - we were both rusty and Dex wasn’t very reactive and so I was riding pretty sloppy, but understandable for him to be a bit dead to the aids after messing around at home for so long! Also check the matchy matchy lolll, bringing back the ol’ cross country colours @hlhequestrianapparel

Dex needs to get his mind back onto something, he’s going a bit crazy without being in full work/with this weather/perhaps not being on his expensive joint supplements? Not sure Horse Trials SA

10.01.2022 Some highs and a low of last weekend Had to tick off my first show jumping fall off Dex sometime lmao... poor guy had never seen a triple combination before and was veryyyy confused in the 125 after the first element hahah. Was stoked with him on Saturday getting 3rd in the 115 and winning the 120 (improving on last weekend which was a win in the 110 and 3rd in the 115!) Now just need to work on these triple combos over the next few weeks! Thank ya for coming and all the help + video @maxguehrer

04.01.2022 Throwback to another world... the first show of the season, Angaston! The weather has been horrible here as of late so I haven’t been complaining too much about fitting in rides before shows in the pouring rain... but Pinot has started his 3rd week of rehab, which is the longest we’ve got into it before other things popped up (time constraints, him getting injured in the paddock, etc) I’m not holding my breath but I’ll be more than excited if I’m able to jump back on him when and if he completes the 6 weeks of daily lunging/ back muscling work
