25.01.2022 #GriffithUni students have scored work experience at BLEACH* Festival on the Gold Coast in a year that has seen most major events cancelled or postponed. Kate Fea studies marketing, communications and PR at Griffith and hopes to work in events when she graduates. She said she feels fortunate to be able to work in her desired field at home on the coast.... I am so excited to help welcome back the Gold Coast’s bustling culture and arts scene after a pretty dreary 2020, Kate said. I am really looking forward to gaining insights into how local events and festivals are organised and run, particularly now in the era of COVID-19. Read more through the link:

Once Philippa completed her internship, she landed herself a job; now, after two years working at Ruby, she has been promoted to Senior Account Executive. ‘It’s a fast-paced industry; my day pretty much always starts with a coverage update where I scan all of the media and collate all of the coverage to send across t...o the clients,' 'We work on campaigns, such as pitching profiles, tenants or clients to the media, hosting media calls, community management, content creation, event planning, and managing photoshoots and that’s just the beginning,' 'There are endless jobs that you can secure with your degree, so don’t freak out if you don’t like your first job or experience. I encourage you to mould your interests around your future job and go full steam ahead.’ For more info on our Journalism, Public relations and Communications programs visit: https://www.griffith.edu.au//journalism-communication-publ

18.01.2022 Nestled next to Griffith University’s Gold Coast campus, in the heart of the hub that once housed the Commonwealth Games, is what has now become the Cohort Innovation Space. Our PR and Journalism graduate Ariana Margetts is at the helm as the general manager of CoSpaces. She works closely with the state government and the Southport Chamber of Commerce to attract big clients to the precinct, and also liaise with smaller entrepreneurs who need shared spaces to make their ideas become reality. 09.01.2022 People put life on a timeline, when you are in your twenties you should be doing X, Y, Z and getting these skills and qualifications. And so, when I actually started at Griffith, I really felt like ‘Oh I’m behind’. Now I don’t care because life is a journey and if you want to upskill yourself and be very current and keep up-to-date with what’s happening in the world, you can’t rush that. You have to take your time. The opportunities are there, sometimes they are hidden. Th...e onus is on you to seek them out but they’re there. Kimberley Bates has discovered a world of opportunity since studying a Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Griffith. She settled in easily as a mature age student, and soon added a Bachelor of Psychological Science and a Diploma in Languages (Chinese) to her study plan. Kimberley is the Millennium Fellowship Campus Director at Millennium Campus Network, 2020 Jack Cranstoun Scholar, New Colombo Plan Alumni, Global Youth Icon, United Nations Bangkok and Communications Specialist at Humanitarian Affairs. https://youtu.be/QAmVlvCo8EU If you would like to know more about our Language programs visit: https://www.griffith.edu.au//humanities-languages/languages
