01.01.2022 Don Ellison 1934 to 2020 May he rest in peace #DonEllison author, propagator, exporter, plant hunter, speaker, seed specialist, lover of Frangipanis ... an horticultural world legend passed away yesterday from the effects of a massive stroke a few months ago. Don, a second generation horticulturist, was born February 1934 and has spent a lifetime working with plants... starting his entrepreneurial journey selling carnations at the age of 12. He has left a wonderful legacy fo...r us all through his passion for plants and photography being available in his many fabulous published reference books ..... topics ranging from Camellias to palms. The one we were all awaiting was his upcoming frangipani book .... hopefully someone will take up the project? His fellow plant hunters AKA 'fellow obsessive horticultural travellers' will vouch for Don's thirst for plant knowledge and his desire to share with everyone. Condolences to Don's family and close friends, he will be missed. RIP in your new garden Don. See more
