23.01.2022 Two of our HMAS Castlemaine volunteers Bob Pearson and Andrew Campbell with the new honour board depicting the ship crew list of names of all sailors that served on the ship during WW2. The honour board was purchased under the DVA "Saluting The Service" grant.

21.01.2022 The ABC of Royal Australian Navy Corvettes is a great pictorial book of all the 56 Australian Bathurst Class Corvettes compiled bybyte AB Libby Pearce whilst working in the history section of the Sea Power Centre in Canberra. These Corvettes mainly manned by Australian Navy Reserve personnel performed anAnh amazing role during WW2. Libby has covered them all with a brief individual ship history. Well done from the HMAS Castlemaine volunteers.

17.01.2022 The ship will be absent from Gem Pier for 2 weeks from 14th to 28th August while it enters Williamstown Dockyard to have its underwater hull cleaned and painted. She will look brand new on her return.
15.01.2022 We had a lovely evening on board the Castlemaine last night for a bit Christmas cheer with most of the volunteers.
14.01.2022 Last night at the Castlemaine volunteers and supporters Christmas party (around 80) Bruce Wadsworth from BAE Systems presented the ship with a historical piece of equipment for measuring engine horsepower and also a "docking board" used when ships went into the Alfred Graving dock at Williamstown dockyard.

06.01.2022 Mr Ron Vickress, a 93 year old WWII war veteran from Queensland, who served as a signalman on another corvette HMAS Pirie during the war, visited the ship today. He has an amazing recollection of ship detail and was able to enlighten us on some future ideas to include in the ongoing ship restoration.

04.01.2022 Like all Australian organisations,The Castlemaine is facing the challenges of a rapidly-changing landscape in response to Coronavirus (COVID-19). Keeping our volunteers and visitor safe is our priority. As such, we wish to advise that the ship will close for tour groups and visitors alike from Wednesday 18 March until at least 12 May 2020, to try to help slow the spread of COVID-19 within our communities.
04.01.2022 We were happy today to host Glen Moriarty from Postcards (Channel 9). He toured the ship for approx. 2 hours filming. We will keep you posted when it will be aired (approx. 2 to 4 weeks from now).
