19.01.2022 At this place that I can call the center of the person and human being that I have become thus far, I have to find a way to express my sincere gratitude and heart felt thanks from all that you have done for me in these times of challenge and reflection. It is one thing to have the persons or groups of people who you are closest to extend themselves with loving warmth and deeds to calm the tremors of tragic news such as a diagnosis of cancer, but to have so many of you from b...eyond that boundary and even outside of the Kenpo world contribute so generously has brought me to a deeper sense of the feeling of being a part of the whole and not someone on a solo journey. The times of isolation and despair that are inevitable under these circumstances are many to say the least, and it is at these times that your gifts and support have touched me so deeply. There are many seminars that have been given and are yet to come from around the world to raise awareness and to reach out with a message to me personally that I am not alone. Some of you participating in these seminars I have never even met, but I want all of you to know that I hear you loud and clear and that the beauty of your message came to me at the times of need and settled my troubled spirit and gave me strength to never give up. I feel so overwhelmingly fortunate to have the life that I have and will never forget the deluge of warmth and kindness that has never left me and never will. Steadfast, I remain in the warmth and embrace of the lessons dearly learned from this ordeal and hope to spend the remainder of my life in your friendship. From these depths I say to you THANK YOU. 14.01.2022 Many arts teach their practitioners to use a downward block to stop a front kick, resulting in the student's hammerfist being slammed into the attacker's instep, such an impact can break the blockers hand or arm. Kempo teaches that it is preferable to parry your opponent's leg to the side and spin him off balance before you counterattack hard. Such a redirecting movement will usually disrupt their balance and leave them vulnerable.

Every practitioner has different attributes that can make them effective. The old masters showed their wisdom when they proclaimed that in a fight for your life, you should use what you know best and forget about the sanctity of the style.
