22.01.2022 New post added at www.bountyconspiracy.com - Pacifist or Villain Blighs Lucrative Mutiny! It can be entertaining to split an infinitive but in this cartoon there is a double entendre that lurks beyond the ambiguity. Notably the drawing shows all the mutineers having their fingers pressed into their ears. Mirroring the childrens rhyme, names will never hurt me, the taunting is meant to be mischievous. In reality, shamefully, the only resistance Bligh threw at the mutineers during his entire three-hour arrest was more of his verbal abuses. And why would Bligh risk his skin when all the while he was smartly aware that an opportunity for fortune and glory was rapidly unfolding!
19.01.2022 WHO DARES, LOSES ! Bountiana in Decline: It is a sad fact that the story of Lieutenant Blighs historic launch voyage has been relegated to a trashy reality television show. On 10 July 2017 Australian SBS television re-aired Channel 4s first episode of Mutiny, a five part UK series in which SAS Who Dares Wins instructor Anthony Middleton and 8 other men, very badly recreate Blighs journey from Tonga to Timor following the mutiny on the Bounty....Continue reading

18.01.2022 It is time to reset the historic settings: the mutiny on the Bounty only occurred because it suited Lieutenant Bligh at that time. Bligh had deliberately agitat...ed dissent. It was more about a commanders fear of failure and ridicule. Bligh, an intelligent yet belligerent and sadistic bisexual, tormented the not-so-smart, and much younger, heterosexual, Fletcher Christian; in the hope he would create some kind of serious disruption, which Christian eventually did. More the fool was Christian. In advance of sudden peril to a ship and its compliment, commanders tended to update fallback plans as they proceeded on their voyage. At that time, should the Bounty have collided with a hidden shoal, or rebellion broken out [there were no Marines on board] Blighs fallback plan was to take to ships tenders and sail 80 miles south to the safety of Tongatapu where there was a fair chance of rescue. As it happened, Bligh was only prevented from doing so by a change in the weather and sea. When Bligh did sail his sufficiently equipped Launch to Australias Great Barrier Reef, one should not be surprised to learn that the entrance Bligh passed into the waters of the Great Barrier Reef was just twelve miles south of Providence Channel where the Endeavour had re-entered in 1770: thats less than half a compass degree off-course from Tofua where he set out. Ten years in the writing the best explanation ever written about the Bounty mutiny is contained in Conspiracy on the Bounty Blighs Convenient Mutiny. Illustration: picture I took in 1966: Restoration Island. In the centre-foreground is the beach at high tide where Bligh landed the Bountys Launch. The distant range is the Australian mainland.

Some love it: wannabe actors emulating people sufferings, violence, domination, retribution, constantly glorifying and reinforcing got-to-see human conflicts, and in the case of Channel 4s survival challenge (Blighs launch voyage), pretend it is history being revisited. It isnt!

10.01.2022 Blighs (made-to-order) Convenient Mutiny. What started as an all-fools-day fun question put to group members of Friends of Pitcairn was in essence a sensible question. Question If you could have asked Fletcher Christian one question, what would that question be? ... Answer Considering that William Bligh made fame and fortune through adversity, and observing that his passive response to his arrest and the mutiny, was most uncharacteristic of Lieutenant Bligh, how much Mr Christian were you acting as Blighs agent provocateur? After all, the mutiny was capably conducted and Bligh could have reacted much more decisively, yet he chose not to do so. The irony of your mutiny Mr Christian is that no blood was shed when there very well should have been; passive resistance meant no resistance at all is that not so Mr Christian what say thee? * [* Putting Hollywood stereotypes aside, when three men deserted the Bounty at Tahiti, Bligh displayed commendable leadership by tracking them right to their lair, and in the tense moment of arresting them he placed himself in physical danger. However when it came to the mutiny, it is highly suspicious that his command was so uncharacteristically weak. It was weak because he calculated he could achieve his goals without putting himself at risk; he was too clever to put on an unnecessary show of bravery. The mystery of his timidity has not gone unnoticed and any claims that Bligh had no opportunity to engage his captors, simply does not stand up to scrutiny.] [Illustration: Fletcher Christian age 23 crop of one of John Hagans collection of Bounty Paintings. 09.01.2022 A ROYAL BOTANIST IN THE PHILIPPINES and CAPTAIN BLIGHS ROLE IN EIGHTEENTH CENTURY BREADFRUIT MYTHMAKING ! Almost two years before HMS Bounty set sail for Tahiti, Juan de Cullar, having been appointed Royal Botanist in the service of the Real Compaa de Filipinas, embarked from Cdiz on board the guila Imperial heading for the Philippines. By August 1786 Cullar was in Manila undertaking his commission. Using the fleet sailing between the Philippines and Spain, Cullar s...Continue reading

03.01.2022 New post added at www.bountyconspiracy.com - Countdown 9 Days To Mutiny ! A study of the class backgrounds of those who took part in the mutiny and those who were loyal to Bligh, reveal an overwhelming concentration of the more privileged joining the loyalists. With the exception of Christian and Midshipman Edward Young, the rebels were the lower deck men who worked the ship; they were the men who did the strenuous tasks, the ones whose lives were most at risk high up among... a snare of rigging and slippery spars. Being compelled to claw at sails with fingernails ripped and bloodied, or lashed for a mere slight of insolence, such misery and brutality could result in a sailors overly vengeful reactions. Furthermore, their vengeance might be defensible as sailors fortunate enough to make it back home, once their pay was spent, unemployment only brought more hardship upon them. Many believe that had it not been for Christians gentlemanly mark, dormant hatred amongst the wretched seaman-class would have resulted in an outbreak of revenge and murder. However the records simply do not support the theory of a spontaneous outburst of class hatred, of a rising over oppression dealt by tyrants in uniform, so there must have been another potent reason.
