21.01.2022 This drawing from "Horse Brain, Human Brain" went viral when it was posted on the Horse and Rider Books page. It generated 599 shares and 89 comments in a very ...short time. Horses don't see with as much sharp detail as humans do. That difference results in some startling images. Next time, you're galloping down to a jump, you might want to know what your horse sees. Then again, maybe not.... What do you think?

20.01.2022 Tomorrow night weather permitting we will be conducting some small test burns in and around the Equestrian Centre. This may emit a large amount of smoke for a... short period of time, if you have any respiratory conditions could you please stay inside while the burn is conducted Times frames will be between 7.00pm -9.00pm, also please be mindful of washing on your lines if you back on to the area around terrina street and the Roscommon reserve. This is in preparation for a much larger burn on the northern end of the land at a later stage weather permitting, be mindful vegetation is fast drying out and we will have limited opportunities to conduct a safe efficient burn See more

15.01.2022 Be prepared for your event!!! Riders are expected to present proof of membership to attend a pony club event. In particular, if you are attending an ODE you ...may be asked to show your membership card when you collect your back number (make sure you read the briefing sheet/event instructions to see what is required to get your back number). We no longer have paper cards so you need to access the 'virtual card' on your device. It's super easy, just make sure you have the app installed on your phone (or parent/guardian's phone) before your event. Below is a pic of how you can do it! *** edited to add: it's also a good idea to save a screenshot of your card so it is on your phone in case you have no service *** NOTE: If you want to print your card, you can log in to the MyPonyClub Member Portal https://osm-pony.omnisportsmanagement.com//OSMMbr_LoginPon and go to "My Memberships" and click "Resend Membership Card". The PDF card will be emailed to you (or your parent/guardian) and you can print it! Maybe keep it in your float or glovebox!!!

03.01.2022 MEMBER OF THE MONTH JANUARY 2021 Name. Laura Monty Age: 19 Horses name. PEC Archie 3 (Archie) ... ? I was 10 when I started riding, I joined H&D in 2011. ? I never wanted to ride, but I got dragged along to pony club when Alanah would ride. So I decided that I would have a go. ? Definitely eventing with Archie. Eventing allows you to ride all three disciplines and although Archie isn’t the best Show-jumper he gives it a go (sometimes). . I have had Archie for nearly 5 years now and it has been a roller coaster ride. When I got Arch he hadn’t done much at all, I took him up from grade 4 to grade three confidently. Unfortunately a couple of years ago he had a massive stack that shook his confidence and we had to start all over again. Archie is generally a really chilled horse that will give everything a go. He has done State eventing, dressage, show jumping and games. He’s travelled to the mainland for nationals twice. ? Sonja Johnson - I have had some lessons with Sonja, when she comes down to southern hopefuls. She provides awesome instruction and has so much experience and knowledge. I went over and watched her ride at the Adelaide international 3DE 2017 ? Sushi / ? Arch and I have had a tough time jumping in the past. After our bad stack and losing confidence, Archie wouldn’t jump anything 50cm off the ground. So we went back to basics and started again. Now we are back up jumping grade 2. He still has his moments but overall huge improvement. ? Archie and I won the senior prelim dressage national championship in 2019 at Sydney Pony club nationals. ? Get Archie going strongly in grade 2 and compete at state trials 2021 in grade 2, state dressage champs in grade 1 and state show jump champs in grade 2. ? I enjoy riding at all the events and travelling across the state to compete for my club. I like the support everyone gives each other especially from other clubs. Pony club has allowed my to meet new people and make friendships that will last forever.

02.01.2022 Nominate is now open for our Christmas rally. Don’t forget this rally includes fancy dress for riders and ponies. There will be a BBQ lunch and awards. Don’t miss it!!

01.01.2022 Congratulations Maya Stephens! Not only did she win the ETAS Showhorse Junior Sportsmanship award at TEC on Saturday, but she also took home Champion Small Pony with Panty Ffynon Hoity Toity. Well done Maya! Photo credit; Penny Woods.

01.01.2022 Lots of fun at Jump club tonight. Well done to Alana and her new pony; how sweet is he! Good work by Alyssia, Cherkira and Parys.

01.01.2022 MEET OUR MEMBERS In a new feature on our club facebook, each month we will feature one of our members. This month we meet Ella Jones and her pony Jess. Name: Ella Jones Age: 12... Pony: Lyric Lodge Just Jester (Jess) ? 2 years old. ? Because I love horses and I’ve been around them all my life. ? : , , , , . Show jumping . ? ? I’ve had Jess for 4yrs now. He is cheeky and will eat anything! ? Erin Buswen ( jumping league). I met her at nationals and she is very courageous. ? Beef stroganoff (Dads) ? Harry Potter (any) ? Correct speed/rhythm and manners (Pony). ? 7th in the showjumping section of my competition at pony club nationals in Sydney last year. (12 ) ()? Short term - to represent my state again. Long - Olympics or just be the best that I can. ? The best thing about pony club is that it’s fun and I get to meet new people who love horses too!

01.01.2022 Don’t forget to enter Closes at midnight tonight a Qualifier for champs 2021 down at Huon PC
