20.01.2022 Hi Bike Kitchen lovers, just wanting to let you all know that we're making our preparations for HBK reopening shortly. Our first weekend back will be for preparing the site and involving new volunteers. Expect this to be Sunday 28th. If you are interested in being a HBK volunteer please get in touch with an email to [email protected]. You don't need to be a expert (we're certainly not). If you have a Sunday free from time to time and want to see more people riding b...ikes then you're qualified. The first Sunday Session is expected to be Sunday 5th July at the normal 1-4 time. We will be social distancing and managing the session in line with requirements, and we're sure everyone will be understanding. More information will be posted here and on the site as we progress.

17.01.2022 Any Projecteers amongst you?! Good read and makes some valid points like... With the escalation in global bicycle Projecteers taking the internet and other places by storm, the cost of one part could exceed the finished value of the whole bike, but some still buy the part. This is when the finished project becomes a keeper as nobody likes to see, or admit to, an immediate loss of cash. ... https://diaryofacyclingnobody.com/life-as-a-projecteer/

12.01.2022 Hi everyone, For those wanting to know about when we'll be opening. We're working out an opening date but we have to have a COVID safety plan and a bunch of controls in place so there is a bit to do first. The government advice is 15th June is currently the proposed date for the lifting of gathering numbers to 20, with an increase to up to 50 on the 13th of July. https://www.coronavirus.tas.gov.au/fami/roadmap-to-recovery As we often have more than 20 on site management woul...d be difficult and we're looking at a Stage 3 reopening. Keep checking for updates.

11.01.2022 We are closed today (busy chefs) but we'll be back next Sunday from 1-4pm

09.01.2022 This would be great!

09.01.2022 Hi All, we were blown away by the number of people interested in becoming a part of the Hobart Bike Kitchen team and had a really great induction day. Not everyone who expressed interest was able to make it then so we're going to have a second Induction Day on 26th July.... I realise this may still not suit you as family, riding etc... still have to be looked after, but we hope to see you on the 26th. If you can let me know one way or the other that would be great for planning. Cheers, Mark

08.01.2022 Could you please keep an eye out for a red trek top fuel. Stolen from car overnight. Not a lot of luck with this model as second one taken in about two years, but in different states . Distinctive colour (haven’t seen may about) and fitted with dropper post.

07.01.2022 The Jamis Renegade bicycle that Hobart Rotary Club is giving away to one lucky person who pledges to #parkitfortheplanet on Wednesday 26 August is getting a few... modifications. To make it an ideal commuter/shopping bicycle, Johno at Cyclingo is fitting top handbrakes, mudguards and pack rack with storage bag to make it easier to carry your essentials. Thanks to Hobart Rotary Club Vice President, Matt Drake, for organising the bike give-away.
