21.01.2022 Meet HDA Team Member Fiona!! Fiona has been involved with HDA since her student days and is now a much admired member of the HDA teaching faculty. A highlight of her time dancing at HDA was the many years of pas de deux (partner/duo work) she was able to perform with Ken. Fiona is delighted to combine her knowledge from her Bachelor of Education with her love of dance with the young HDA dancers on Saturdays. Join Fi in our Junior jazz and ballet classes on a Saturday in Term 3!!

21.01.2022 Meet HDA Team Member Emma B! Emma Bavage has been a part of the Tasmanian dance landscape since beginning her training at 2.5 years of age in many genre and syllabus in Launceston. Emmas passion is teaching classical ballet and working with children and young adults to develop technique and artistry in this genre. As well as being a qualified highland dancing teacher she has completed ballet teacher training with Australian Conservatoire of Ballet. She loves sharing ballet and dance with the students of Hobart Dance Academy and is a well loved and respected member of the HDA teaching team. Join Emma B in our Classical Ballet program in Term 3!!

20.01.2022 Last weekend we hit the stage for the first time this year for Follow Your Dreams. To say the kids were excited is an understatement! We are so proud of all our kids, their resilience over the last 6 months has been amazing. Everyone was a star! We are so lucky to have been able to perform, our thoughts and love go out to all of the mainland dance schools and kids who are doing it tough at the moment. We hope to be able to share your dance journeys again soon x

12.01.2022 Meet HDA Team Member...Angela!! As one of Tasmanias most experienced dance teachers, Angela brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to the students of HDA. Her love of ballet and tap inspires her students to succeed and achieve their dreams. Angela has achieved many goals throughout her career with a notable highlight being employed by Billy Elliott to act as a tapping and ballet instructor for the musical Billy Elliott that ran with seasons in Melbourne and Sydney. Join Angela in our Classical Ballet (including ATOD Ballet Exams) or Tap Extension programs in Term 3!

09.01.2022 Meet HDA team member...Ken!! Ken has been an integral part of the success of HDA and its students over the past 40 years. In this time Ken has built a strong reputation across the state as a loving and passionate teacher, training technically excellent dancers. Kens career started out as one of the first professional dancers in the West Australian Ballet Company. He then danced as lead Principal Artist with Ballet Victoria, the Sydney Ballet Company and the Perth City Ballet Company. During his time with the Perth City Ballet Company he was also appointed Ballet Master for the Company. Join Ken in our Classical Ballet program in Term 3!
