20.01.2022 Where is the edge of your comfort zone? Up until recently, mine has been with heights. Have you heard of desensitisation? Small bits of exposure over time, with increasing levels of exposure until the brain and body’s sympathetic nervous system (flight, freeze, fight) levels of anxiety/phobia/stress are diminished and the stressor no longer holds the same level of activation. I can now look down from a tree height of 18m without my guts rising for my throat, pins and needle...s all over my body and the hairs on the back my neck standing up. It really has been a wobbly journey to get ‘ok’ with one of my bigger fears. Do you know what helped? Breathing. Reminding the old deep brain- reptilian brain- that I am safe, the harness is safe, and I can trust the guides to do their job. Breathing, trust and bravery. Comment below about where you ‘edge’ is. #lilshiatsu #hollybanktreetopsadventure #bodystillness #itsoktobescared #doitanyway See more

01.01.2022 This is brilliant for panic attacks. The more tools we have, the better we can get through the peaky moments.
