23.01.2022 This morning, Premier Mark McGowan - together with the Royal Agricultural Society of Western Australia (RASWA) - announced that the 2020 Perth Royal Show will g...o on! It is anticipated that the 2020 Perth Royal Show may have some slight differences, but it will have just as much agriculture, entertainment, displays, animals, food and fireworks than previous years. The Premier and RASWA CEO were also happy to advise that there will be further incentives for the public, with a flat $60 Family Ticket being available at any time leading up to and during the Show. The price of an Adult ticket has also been reduced to $25 from $32 and there will be a Half Price Kids Day and Half Price Seniors Day. The spectacular Fireworks will also be a feature of the 8 days of this year’s Perth Royal Show September 26 to October 3, 2020.

18.01.2022 A little Ocean Trout for todays Wine Show judges.....

18.01.2022 A message from Peter Cooper, CEO of the Royal Agricultural Society of WA It is with genuine sadness that, in conjunction with the State Government, we confirm ...the cancellation of the 2020 Perth Royal Show. At every step of this process, we have been working with the State Government to develop a safe event which the WA community can be proud of. However, with the continuing outbreaks of COVID-19 in the Eastern States and the reemergence of the virus in New Zealand, it has become increasingly clear that we cannot proceed while simultaneously guaranteeing the safety of the public. While there is of course disappointment in making today’s announcement; as the CEO of this distinguished, not-for-profit organisation, I feel enormous pride in the hard work; dedication and courage of all those involved in the preparations for the 2020 event. The fact that we were unable to deliver this annual showcase is no reflection on the efforts of our staff; volunteers; competitors and council. On the contrary their belief in giving the people of WA the event they deserved and their determination in the face of unprecedented challenges, should be applauded. While there will be tough decisions to be made over the next few months, one thing is certain. The Perth Royal Show will be back and we look forward to opening our gates to the thousands of showgoers, from across WA, very soon.

09.01.2022 It is with much disappointment that the Brighton agricultural Show Committee has decided to cancel the 2020 Brighton Show due to the varying challenges presente...d by the COVID-19 pandemic. Taking into consideration the welfare of all involved in organising, participating in, and attending the show, combined with all the extra measures required it has made it unfeasible this year. The Brighton Show committee thanks its members, sponsors and volunteers for their continued support. The committee does, however, look forward to the future and putting on a great show in 2021. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to contact us at [email protected] or phone 0467042013 Secretary Rosie Purdon

02.01.2022 Showground Sunday Market RE-OPENING! The Hobart Showground Sunday Market is set to resume this Sunday, July the 5th. Stall holders have been notified of the re-opening following the closure of the market in mid-March due to Coronavirus. Existing stall holders will begin bumping in over the next few days. ... Permanent and casual stall holders are welcome, and bookings can be made by phoning the Royal Agricultural Society of Tasmania on 62 726 812. Under normal circumstances, the market attracts about 2,000 visitors each Sunday to 150 stalls. 100,000 people annually. During the Coronavirus outbreak, numbers of people inside the pavilion will be restricted to 250 at any one time. We’ve developed a comprehensive COVID safety plan for the market, said Scott Gadd of the Royal Agricultural Society of Tasmania. Many of our stall holders have lost significant income during the weeks-long closure, and they are keen to get back into action. The Safety Plan stipulates separate entry and exit points for the market, together with initiatives such as: Staff and stall holders to be temperature checked on arrival. Log of temperature checks to be kept, and anyone with a temperature over 37.5 will be declined entry. Stalls to be spaced to meet social distancing requirements. Stallholders (and the public) are encouraged to download the COVID safety app. Vulnerable people, such as those with even mild cold-like symptoms, will be discouraged from attending. People counters will ensure only 250 people are in the covered market at any one time. Physical distancing education and monitoring. Stall holders to be briefed on hygiene practises. Aisle limits on numbers of people in each aisle. Hand sanitiser stations: frequent disinfecting and cleaning of surfaces. Stallholders and staff to wear gloves (and masks if required). Encourage tap’n’go cashless transactions. Stall holders be encouraged to provide feedback and report non-compliance. These protocols to be regularly reviewed. The Showground Sunday Market is one of the biggest weekly community markets in Tasmania, and we’re pleased to be nearing a position where we can re-start’ said Mr Gadd. We are asking the public to co-operate with us to make the re-opening a success. Clearly, if you feel unwell or are otherwise vulnerable to COVID-19, you shouldn’t attend. But those who come to the market can be assured that a rigorous hygiene plan is in place which should not prove to be too intrusive for market goers. We look forward to seeing you this Sunday
