21.01.2022 We are absolutely honoured to be sharing the music of the amazing Arc Duo and we are incredibly grateful for their support and involvement in our MUSIC THROUGH TIME Aged Care Initiative which commences tomorrow for the residents and workers of Marina Aged Care. Hobsons Bay Music Academy is dedicated to spreading the joy of music to as many aged care facilities as possible throughout Victoria during these unprecedented times. 19.01.2022 Everyone is applauding everyone but our children and of course grandchildren! These little heroes have stayed indoors more than they’ve ever known in their lives. Not being allowed to play at parks. Adapting to online learning. Their whole worlds have literally been turned upside down. All these rules they’ve never known. Loss of friends, family, daily activities, lessons, outings. A life they couldn’t have imagined. Adults talking about others becoming unwell, news reportin...g death after death. Our poor children’s minds must be racing. Every day they get up and carry on despite all that’s going on and all they’ve done is paint pictures and put stuff in their windows for the heroes out in the world. So here’s to our little heroes: today, tomorrow, forever Copy and paste to celebrate our babies, toddlers, children and teenagers that have had to make immediate drastic changes to their lives. For those who may not know, the COVID shut down has affected us quite dramatically. With the banning of mass gatherings, all business events have stopped, taking all of our revenue with it. Introducing The Wooden Toy Co! ... They create high quality wooden toys. All of their products are designed and manufactured at our factory in Melton, Victoria. Their products are made from sustainable timbers, such as our block set that is made from premium Victorian Ash hardwood, and their sorting tray and Pikler triangles are made from sustainably grown radiata pine plywood. 11.01.2022 At any age, music can evoke powerful reactions in people. For those living at aged care facilities, music can make an incredible difference in the quality of life and mental health of everyone. Hobsons Bay Music Academy is proud to announce that we will be implementing a new Aged Care Initiative this term: MUSIC THROUGH TIME... This project will involve running a series of live online music concerts tailored to the interests of the residents in Aged Care Facilities to bring joy into their lives especially during this period of isolation. Our wonderful instrumental students, teachers, guest artists and even ballroom dancers will form part of the music entertainment show presented to various nursing homes throughout Victoria which will commence in August. 11.01.2022 Empowering students to actively engage with our community and build life skills is one of our Primary Missions at Hobsons Bay Music Academy In Term 3, we implemented the Music Through Time initiative to spread the joy of Music to Victorian Aged Care facilities. Live Online Concerts were conducted for a total of 12 facilities under the umbrella of Marina, Benetas and Trinity Aged Care. I would just like to take a moment to thank our wonderful music families for their incre...dible participation, from the high level preparation from our students and teachers to the parents and guest artists that helped make all of this possible. It fills me with such joy to see the collective efforts of all involved have a positive impact on the elderly in these trying times. Here is some kind feedback from our most recent concert. "I Just wanted to email you guys to thank you on behalf of all our residents and myself. Our residents were very impressed by how talented all the performers were and they kept telling me throughout the concert when the younger ones would play how old are they? And they can play so well for being so young. One of the residents also spoke to me afterwards about the broad range of different type of singers and players. He said normally when we have these concerts it’s just one type of music/singer, and it was good to have a range of different types. Again, Thank you for all your work on your end to set it all up and organising this it was greatly appreciated by myself and all residents." 10.01.2022 Mireu’s story is truly inspirational having commenced her journey with piano with us at age 9 when we first opened 6 years ago! Mireu received a well deserved scholarship at Victorian College of the Arts and during which she has continue to demonstrate accelerated growth, being prize winner at many competitions, experienced playing with orchestras, and aspires to be a concert pianist one day. We are honoured to have played an integral part in igniting Mireu’s love, passion and dedication to her music. Her journey has been truly transformational

04.01.2022 Consistent Practice Beats Cramming Another common problem many guitarists face is practicing 2 hours on Saturday, 2.5 hours on Sunday, then 15 minutes on Wedn...esday. Long practice sessions each week, but no consistency. While you’ll feel a sense of accomplishment after those long practice sessions, by Wednesday you’ve forgotten some of what you learned.
