23.01.2022 GHA community: We are aware that everyone is super keen to get back on the turf to train and/or play. We thank you all for your patience and understanding durin...g these last few weeks. During this time we were able to ensure the safety of our members, and for this we are grateful We are pleased to advise that training can commence as of Monday, and clubs are able to resume training on the turf once again. Please adhere to our usual COVID-safe practices, enact social distancing where possible and wear masks** Representative teams, your coaches will be in contact regarding training allocations during the week, specifically for the upcoming Zones Carnival in Rockhampton. Thank you all for your ongoing support of the sport we all love Please read below for policy on masks: **Masks must be worn as per below up to and including 15th April: YOU MUST CARRY A FACE MASK WITH YOU AT ALL TIMES WHEN YOU LEAVE HOME, UNLESS YOU HAVE A LAWFUL REASON NOT TO. - You MUST wear a mask in indoor spaces. - It is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED you wear a mask when outdoors if you are unable to stay more than 1.5 m distance from other people, such as busy walkways and thoroughfares. - Masks do not need to be worn in some circumstances, including children under 12 years or if you have certain medical conditions. - Masks are not required when you are in outdoor spaces and able to stay 1.5m from others. - MATCHES/TRAININGS - Players and umpires are not required to wear masks during matches/training as this is classed as physical exertion. However as per Government Requirement: "Professional and non-professional sports players MUST WEAR A MASK WHILE THEY ARE 'ON THE BENCH' waiting to play. They may remove their mask if they are puffing or out of breath." - DUGOUTS Coaches, Managers and any team members MUST wear a mask when in their team's dugout.

22.01.2022 To All Sparks Life, Current and Past Members, What a season we have had. We started our season like normal, sign on early in February and pre-season training commencing March for a late March season start. Our member numbers were low, but this is normal due to our cross over with other sports. 10.01.2022 Hi everyone, With only 2 weekends to go, we (GHA) are sending a friendly reminder to keep everyone safe on the fields during fixture games. Could we please ens...ure that Players, Coaches, Managers, Umpires, Umpire Mentors and Technical Officials all have enclosed shoes. We would like to protect everyone from the likelihood of being injured so therefore if we see anyone entering the Turf or Grass Fields without enclosed shoes we will need to ask them to leave and put on enclosed shoes. Also all players should be wearing Shin Pads and it is strongly recommended that all players also wear a mouthguard. Any questions, just let me know. Thanks Sandy

05.01.2022 Attention all Gladstone junior hockey players! It's time to represent you centre in the upcoming 2021 Zone Carnival. This year the Zone carnival will be held on... April 17th & 18th weekend in Rockhampton. We have expanded the grades in the carnival to include:- U11s Girls U13s Boys U13s Girls U15s Boys U15s Girls Opens Men's Opens Women's Masters women. GHA desperately needs players to express interest in going to this event. Teams need to be formed and organised. 04.01.2022 FABIO MATCH AND PLAQUE & SEAT UNVEILING This Saturday 12th September at 3 pm, there will be a short ceremony for the unveiling of Fabio's plaque & seat near his... tree we planted earlier in the season. If you wish to say a few words can you please contact Deb Creighton to arrange. Following this, there is the Fabio Game between Meteors and Sparks in honour of our Fabio.
