25.01.2022 Hopefully William will be found soon, safe & well. If you are out & about in the area & see him, please contact police.

25.01.2022 We will remember them. Lest We Forget.

25.01.2022 Vale John French The brigade mourns the loss of Ex- Brigade Captain John French, member of the brigade from the mid 1970’s to Mid 1980’s. John served as 3rd lieutenant at the brigade in 1976/77, 2nd Lieutenant 1978/81 before becoming captain of the brigade in 1982, serving in that roll until 1985.... Although John & the family moved out the area in the late 80’s he continued as a firefighter joining the Warrenbayne Brigade when they moved to Benalla and since 1989 served 30 years in the NSW Rural fire service - Southern Border Team based in Albury NSW, as secretary of the Paragon Fire Brigade and also as a Deputy Group Officer. He also served a stint as acting Fire Control Officer in the early 90’s. John has left a legacy of service to his local communities and his son Chris said that his dad always remembered fondly of his time at Hoddles Creek Fire Brigade and the community it protected. John passed away on the 24th of August, 2020. . The brigade extends our deepest & heartfelt sympathy to Sue, Chris & family. Rest in Peace Thankyou to Chris French & Phil Coulson for the photos & contributions to this dedication.

21.01.2022 Hi All. Hoddles Creek Fire Brigade recommenced training a few weeks back, so you might see us at the station or around the area. Its all to brush up on our skills, after the long absence due to Covid-19 restrictions, for any emergencies and in preparation for any potential fire season.

20.01.2022 Thank you Brett and the team at Bretrac Engineering Pty Ltd for creating and customising our hand sanitising stand. This has allowed our members to safely conduct their covid-19 checks before attending any fire calls or station maintenance.

14.01.2022 A couple of images of some of the storm damage around Hoddles Creek today.

12.01.2022 The Brigade was paged today to an animal rescue in Correa Road, along with Upper Yarra SES & Macclesfield Fire Brigade with their large animal rescue equipment. The first information received was that a tree had fallen on a horse, which certainly made us fear the worst. Fortunately it was a large branch that had pinned the horse to the ground sometime during the night.... Upper Yarra SES did a fantastic job in removing the branch from the horse, before the Macclesfield gang went to work in getting the horse moved to a safer place, to get him back on his feet, all under the watchful eyes of a fantastic local Vet & of course the concerned owners of the old guy(Horse). Our Brigade members assisted both the Upper Yarra SES & Macclesfield with the man & women power, especially when it came to moving the old guy around. A fantastic result & hopefully he will make a full recovery. Great positive outcome in these difficult times. :-)

12.01.2022 Hi All. The brigade is concerned that with the covid-19 stage 4 restrictions & now significant & on going power outages in the Hoddles Creek area, that some residents maybe in need of some assistance, but are unable to or are reluctant to seek assistance. If you do need help or know of someone who made need assistance, please contact either the brigade or the Yarra Ranges Council & we will certainly try to help in anyway we can. It might be a hot meal, a shower or even some a...dvice on what you can or can't do at this time. If you need help or know of someone who needs help, please contact either the brigade or the Yarra Ranges Council. Please share this to help get the message out there. Thanks. Hoddles Creek Fire Brigade

10.01.2022 Fantastic news today that the Hoddles Creek Fire Brigade will be getting a new fire station. It will be replace the old fire station on the same site. The old station has given the brigade & the community an incredible service for many many years & was built up over time by the hard work & generosity of both past & present brigade members & the Hoddles Creek community, but she is ready to pass the baton to a new modern station to meet the brigades & communities needs of today.... It will be very sad to see the old station go & one or two of us may even shed a little tear, but equally we are over the moon to be on the list for a new station. A huge thank you to everyone who have worked so hard to make this happen.

09.01.2022 The Hoddles Creek Fire Brigade Members would like to extend their sincere gratitude to all involved with the installation of our generator, further enabling us to support the station and the local community. We now have the confidence and ability to provide refuge and uninterrupted support to the community in the event of a local emergency where the state power supply becomes unreliable or is lost. We would like to thank Tony Smith MP for the opportunity to apply for this gra...nt funding and Councillor Jim Child for his support of our application. We look forward to seeing your friendly faces when restrictions ease so that we can have a chat and answer any questions that you may have. This project received grant funding from the Australian Government. Take care and stay safe HCFB

08.01.2022 A few photos to go with Upper Yarra SES below video of today's successful horse rescue.

Finally to the Hoddles Creek Fire Brigade Catering Crew, who prepared meals for the searchers Tuesday Night & ...yesterday, we know you are all feeling flattened by the very sad news, but you also did us proud with your efforts. Rest in peace young William. Taken way to soon.

03.01.2022 The brigade has been notified that Eastern Health will have a mobile covid-19 screening clinic at the Hoddles Creek Cricket Ground/Reserve this coming Thursday, the 10th of September, from midday to 1pm. This is not to indicate that there is any positive cases in the the area, its just to offer an opportunity for residents of more remote communities a chance to be tested, if they wish to. This screening is free of charge; all you need is your Medicare card. No booking is required but wait times may vary.
