24.01.2022 Well this old girl sat in the shed for many moons, and now I have finally gotten around to giving her a new paint job. This old frame was made for me by Eric He...ndren at Hoffy Cycles 1979/1980, was by then my 3rd frame from him. Of the 5 he built for me, I still have 3...jewels all.... This one sparkles again. Might be the new work commute See more

22.01.2022 On Sunday, 15 December 2019, after 16 years of racing, Drapac Cycling lined up one last time, at the Shimano Supercrit. Our farewell to the sport would not be c...omplete without a special mention to our dedicated team owner, Michael Drapac. Dear Michael- without your unique approach to athlete wellbeing, unwavering passion, and incredible support, none of this would have been possible. With your vision, Drapac Cycling has won 7 National and 3 Oceania titles, over 65 UCI victories across four continents, and had several of our riders progress to the World Tour. With your guidance, Drapac Cycling has also supported many of our riders into successfully transitioning into life after sport. You were also instrumental in taking Drapac Capital Partners to the World Tour, and in doing so, achieved 2nd place in the greatest race of all; the Tour de France. So, from everyone who has had the honour of living the Drapac philosophy, observing from the outside, or even briefly passing through, thank you for letting us be a part of the Drapac Cycling family.

21.01.2022 This old Peugeot came in to the shop in as a frame and cardboard box of old parts. Lots of polish later and like a new one.

12.01.2022 Found this pic from when we did The tour of Qinghai lake in 2015 , no race stopped this day . .Rained so hard that the mountainside gave way at 3000 odd meters ... alt ,and had a mud landslide . Jamie Kelly held a good spot for the team car and I ran through the flowing red mud past a pile of downed motos and riders and a few official cars that had gone sideways. looking to see if we had any riders caught in the crash . Luckily none of our team were caught up in the carnage. So ran back up to the car ...we got going and the race continued, then all we had to worry about was cleaning the race car to keep the organisation happy , might have been a little bit of China in the interior lol ...they were strict about the vehicle appearance /condition :-) Quite a stage that one , made for a interesting post race clean up for us all ...good memories :-) See more

11.01.2022 1941 Malvern Star Australian Army bike, a survivor from a time long past. Ready for another Anzac Day . Lest We Forget

11.01.2022 A massive day for the men of the NRS in stage 01 of the Jayco Herald Sun Tour. Being the early antagonisers it was the Korda Mentha team comprising of InForm TM... Insight MAKE riders that stirred the pot. Though it was a break of 5 NRS riders who stole the show; consisting of Jesse Coyle (Nero Continental), Ben Hill (Team BirdgeLane), Conor Murtagh (Olivers Real Food Racing) and Ryan Thomas (ARA Pro Racing). Awarded with most combative for the day, it was Ben Hill driving the break fighting until the end as it was reeled in with just a few kilometres to go. In the end, it came down to a bunch kick dominated by the WorldTour Teams. Though flying under the radar of it all was Godfrey Slattery (Korda Mentha) who contested in the bunch kick crossing the line in fifth! Not a bad day out all in all. #NRS20 #JHST #KordaMentha KordaMentha : Con Chronis

09.01.2022 Stage 02 of the Jayco Herald Sun Tour - 117km in total from Beechworth to the mountain top finish of Falls Creek. As expected, the day began with Ben Hill (Team... BridgeLane) in the early break as he looked to lock down the points jersey; placing 3rd and 1st in the two intermediate sprints respectively seeing him step into the green for Stage 03. Though it wasnt just Hill in todays break, accompanied by fellow NRS rider: Angus Lyons (Olivers Real Food Racing) put on a real display of determination and grit as he picks up the most combative jersey for the stage. As the race proceeded into the latter stages, the peloton dwindled seeing big names fall to the wayside, though short-lived an attack from Jay Vine (Nero Continental) had everyone out their seats as he launched from long range though, it was not to last as Team Sunweb found yet another gear and reeled him back in. Not to be discouraged Vine still powered through finishing in an impressive 8th against some top talent of the WorldTour. #NRS20 #JHST #KordaMentha KordaMentha Photo: Con Chronis

07.01.2022 Another little highlight from the Tour of Qinghai Lake 2015 ,. This was the area for the mechanics to work on the bikes . dutifully guarded by some friendly ar...my fellows with machine guns. The interesting thing with this one , it was a hot one during the days stage , in the middle of rural China , all was well until a slight altercation when an Italian rider and a Chinese rider gave each other a little argy bargy ....unfortunately the smaller Chinese lad came off second best ...the down side for us that day was that we had 5 of our guys lined up behind them . All went down , dusty , the tar on the road had melted and was sticking to the soles of our shoes and riders . Theo Yates was the casualty that day , put back on a spare bike super dazed .(those oakleys long gone Theo lol )..got to the finish and then Tara Creevey had to negotiate the wonders of Chinese medical facilities with him :-) , he had to :fly home from injurys the next day :-( After Brendon Meney and I went back to the mechanics area to get the bikes sorted,, we had our mates helping us out, Jamie Kelly helping with anything we needed and bonus, sourcing out ice cream for us ...(it was hot ), the Dutchies giving us beer and then one of the most thoughtful gestures that day from a Professional rider Wez Man , sending down treats for us as we worked until 1 am getting all ready for the next days racing ....and still managed not to wake room mate ol John Stewart :-) ...Asian grand tour life lol :-) See more
