10.01.2022 12. Floor Pans. Can be rusted up to 90% through from inside the cabin and still not showing from underneath. "Original Rubber Floor Mat warning". ... Do not try to lift "original unripped" mats to inspect floors without taking extreme care, as they are prone to tear and this involves a bit of time & fiddling after purchase. Best to factor in that it may have had some water by viewing the kick panel water marks, scuff plates. Two person job to remove intact and with minimal damage on a very hot day to make mats more flexible. Back seat out, scuff plates loosened, back floor mat carefully unwrapped around back legs of front seat slid backwards then out ... good luck without ripping. Front seat removed, front scuff plates loosened, getting front floor mat up over accelerator pedal is a challenge without tearing. *** If you don't need to remove original rubber mats, and they are in good condition, then I would leave them. Specially if they are non trowel edge early FB. Later FB trowel edge rubber mats are the easiest to replace and one can even ad the paint splatter for the FB Specials, or colour the whole mat for the EK Specials. Obsolete Rubber make new "trowel edge" FB and EK black mats. Pic 1 & 2 ... for extremely rusted floors ... you may need a donor car as floor pans wont suffice on this old bus. Pics 3 & 4 ...
