It starts at your lowest rib and ends at the top of your pelvis. It’s common to have pain here because you use this muscle to sit, stand, and walk. 14.01.2022 Today's episode is shining a light and awareness to a very alarming pandemic of domestic abuse. Please share it with your friends. Kristy is a survivor of 20 years of severe domestic abuse, and is on a mission to heal and support the recovery of domestic abuse victims so that they never have to suffer abuse again. She was once stuck in the never-ending cycle of abuse. The episodes usually included anything from the most horrible verbal abuse to unfathomable severe physical v...iolence and choking, adding up to years of being tormented, devalued and dehumanised. Twenty years of her life were spent fighting to live, not enjoying or flourishing in life, and just fighting to take another breath. She found a way out when she was taken to the mental health facility and had a complete psychological and emotional breakdown and was diagnosed with anxiety, CPTSD, cognitive brain damage and Stockholm syndrome. She was trauma-bonded, co-dependant, always seeking outside validation and I was manically suicidal. When she came across a modality using NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming)and Time Line Therapy, it changed her life forever. The biggest win of all was that her CPTSD was completely gone, and she was no longer trauma-bonded to her perpetrator. Today she is free. They work with me to let go of the problem however, what can happen is that they get scared and self sabotage creeps in. We also call this secondary gain. This means that the client may believe that letting go of their problem may be more painful than keeping it. They may worry that they won’t know who they are or who they feel they might need to be without their problem. They may also worry that people will treat them differently without their problem. Their problem gave them attention. With the problem it excuses certain behaviours. This where it’s crucial to help the client move forward out of the self sabotage & secondary gain. It’s at this point we have to revisit their Why? Why are they here? For what purpose do they want things to change? I love this work so much. 07.01.2022 Exercise is necessary self care, which we should be doing most days for 5 minutes (high intensity is best for the shorter time) to 1 hour a day. As we age, our muscle mass decreases so it is recommended to stop using the phrase I’m just getting old and get yourself to a PT and do some bloody strength training at least twice a week! ... You have to choose. Missed opportunities abound in careers, relationships, personal growth, finances and healthy living. The issue is finding the right balance. But pause and do an honest assessment by asking the following: 1. What are you holding on to? 2. Does it have a positive or negative impact on your business and your life? 3. Can you impose a deadline to re-evaluate and make a decision? 4. If you had no constraints, could you turn that something you are holding on to into something positive? If so, what would it be? 5. Example: Sadness from constant toxic relationships. Sometimes sitting in the sadness, confusion and loneliness is just what you need to heal you. Trying to avoid the sadness will hold you back and may invite some toxic behaviours or choices which will set you back even further.... Look, pain sux. Believe me, I know.
