I would highly recommend a visit if you are considering this part of the world, it was such a pleasant surprise for me and was one of my favourite destinations on this trip. (such a pretty city with flowers everywhere) If you are planning a holiday in Oslo I suggest that you get a good city tourist map and mark the attractions you want to see and the routes before you go. It was only a short walk from the cruise ship along the pier to the main city centre and Karl Johans Gate (street), which stretches from the Central Station all the way to The Royal Palace. The hop on hop off bus will take you to where you can access most of the attractions. The famous Cologne Cathedral is where the bus starts at stop 1. I found Roundabout Travel very knowledgeable and helpful in advising us which ticket to book in order to create our unique trip. Around the world ticket can be really cost effective but can be a bit tricky in planning on your own.
