24.01.2022 The power of documentation tells the viewer an important story of what teaching and learning is valued by the context. This beautiful preschool project is kept simple with the use of black and white, but illustrates the child’s self identity journey using small details, backed with images providing a beautiful learning journey. P.S How good are loose parts??... Adding open-ended materials and surfaces to the project provided the children moments to create self portraits using different resources. HMC

23.01.2022 Rain = Puddle Jumping. Rainy weather is a great topic of discussion with the children. Most children love rain, watching it, walking in it and especially jumping in puddles. Children can discover that rain provides needed water for animals and plants and other science concepts. Also great to incorporate a gum boot and raincoat station in your outdoor playground. HMC

Very inspirational to see the team at Little Coasties kindergarten work together on their understanding of documentation, as well as, seeing their investigation work in action. An amazing display of documentation with the use of artwork, artefacts, provocations, narrative and evaluation analysis illustrating the children’s journey of Space through an inquiry-based project approach. ... *HMC tips...Implementing project work is fundamental to the the Reggio Emila Approach to learning. Project-based learning provides children with an opportunity to investigate and explore an interest in learning. Taking the time to explore ideas with children helps us unpack the theories they are building and for them to self assess their own learning.
