24.01.2022 Playing through the fields

24.01.2022 Hello everyone, I will be unavailable for the entire day today. I am paying it forward and walking 32km in support of my best friend who lost her battle to blood cancer & raising awareness. I will respond to all business enquiries tomorrow. I apologise for any inconvenience x

21.01.2022 MEET FELIX When it comes to breeds like German Shepherds, you could have the best genetic line and there is still a small possibility that your dog develops a condition like Hip Dysplasia or lower back issues due to their conformation (bone structure). Unfortunately, there's only so much we can control. Felix here is young, lean and has a straight back (level topline). However, his owners have noticed some weakness in his hind legs and appears lame at times of excessi...ve play. This could be due to a lot of reasons like lack of muscle tone, incorrect growth, proprioception issues, tight muscles, inappropriate diet. Massage in combination with hind limb exercises + stretches will assist in correcting muscle imbalances, improving posture and gait, and increasing body awareness. It may also be wise to have Felix on a joint support supplement for prevention of possible issues down the track. Look at massage as part of your dog's health & wellness plan - a proactive approach!

19.01.2022 Still to this day, trainers and owners use the out-dated theory that your/my dog thinks he/she is alpha in the house or your/my dog is trying to be dominant. It is far from the truth in regards to the human-dog relationships we have today.

15.01.2022 Who can relate?

15.01.2022 I absolutely love these natural, Australian made balms! One is for repairing + healing, which is perfect because Idda is notorious for cutting up her legs in bushes it’s a lovely product to have in your pet pantry as antibacterial and healing. The second one is for calming, which is ideal for situations when your dog needs to chill out while home alone, travelling in the car, or going to the groomers.... Worth a try for pet parents who cannot find something that works or do not want to use chemical type remedies / medication.

13.01.2022 MEET OSCAR The most compliant client I have ever treated for massage. We think he enjoyed it too much (is that even a thing?) Who would’ve thought this cute little Schnoodle is almost 12 years old. Apart from arthritis in his hips, he is a healthy, loving boy!

10.01.2022 Hollie recently had surgery on her knee due to a luxating patella. We are implementing some passive stretches and exercises to improve her mobility + strength. Therapy of any kind post-surgery is crucial for a proper + complete recovery.

08.01.2022 Let’s talk about the thyroid gland, how to support it, what it’s functions are and how it plays a role in supporting our pets/working dogs performance and most ...importantly HEALTH! The thyroid is an organ located either side of the dogs trachea (windpipe) that produces a number of hormones such as - triiodothyronine (T3) & thyroxine (T4). These two hormones help the body regulate the body’s metabolism, this process helps the body turn food into energy. When our dogs do not produce enough of these hormones their body’s begin to slow down and not function the way we’d like. Not only does the thyroid regulate metabolism, it also regulates mood, heart rate, growth, temperature, development and muscle function. This is why it’s so vital we feed them a correct amount of iodine (a mineral that supports thyroid health). The best source of iodine comes from kelp powders. Kelp a type of seaweed contains high levels of iodine, that supports thyroid health. The NRC (National research council) states a recommend allowance of 220mcg per 1000 calories. I personally use NOW Kelp powder, which I order from iHerb(.com or co.uk) or recommend people feed Dorwest kelp powder. It’s 100% natural, easy to use and also comes with instructions on how to feed by weight of your dog. Thank you .
