25.01.2022 Can never get enough of baby cuddles! Even when I have dishes to clean, floors to sweep, clothes to wash and work to do... this is where I’d rather and where I wish I could be 10-20 years from now. This may be my last baby I get to snuggle and enjoy smelling her sweet head as she sleeps snuggled into my chest I wish you could pause time even if for only a little while

24.01.2022 Who’s into manifesting? Yes, love it? Or not for you? What have you manifested if you’ve tried it? For myself, buying my home. Felt near impossible being a sole trader but somehow made it work

22.01.2022 Your second child.... It’s definitely a different experience and I for one am a lot more relaxed and calmer. You don’t sweat the small stuff. You don’t buy them every toy in the world because you know they won’t play with them anyway or prefer to play with the box. You don’t get tons of well-meaning but confusing and conflicting advice about how to raise them. You save an absolute small fortune preparing for the second because you know all you really need is a baby carrier (...they don’t really use a cot or a pram that much ). It’s taken me 3 months to get her first birthday photos off the camera! Not because I didn’t care about her day, but because I’m busy being as fully present as I can be and enjoy every second of her sweet chubby baby years. Her party was small and relaxed! Complete opposite to my son’s where we had over 60 people, spent weeks planning and making decorations as well as themed treats! For Isla, we bought her cake and ordered pizza (because that was the easiest option to cater to our vegan friends, gluten free friends and our friends who prefer normal people food ). I grabbed balloons from Big W and some decorations we already had at home. This was about ease and comfort! Reflecting back how much more enjoyable parenting has been the second time around I wish I could go back and tell myself not to bother! If they want to be held, hold them. They are not naughty. If they don’t want to go to playgroup. Who cares! They eventually learn to make friends. Keep your circle small and reliable. Drama is not a welcomed addition to a life with children. Your house is going to look like a bomb (unless you’ve got some sweet paid help). Who cares! They would rather you play than clean up. I could go on and on about the things I do differently this time around. But mostly, it’s choose fun and happiness over perfect and what should be. Bring on the 3rd and 4th (jokes jokes!! Hubby would freak!)

21.01.2022 What’s better than amazing conversations , mulled wine and sitting by the bonfire? Nothing!

18.01.2022 Winner winner chicken dinner!! Friday night is normally pizza night here. But we are wanting to really get back to our healthy eating ways. So grabbed this to test it out and Mr 7 (and everyone else) loved it!! ... I don’t even know what ‘style’ of eating you would call it... but our main aim is to reduce sugar & carbs (and of course no gluten). After a while we will try no dairy too. But limiting dairy to nothing after 4pm to help with sleep for the time being. I’m excited to get back to focusing on our health! For too long I’ve put work before family and we’ve all noticed the difference in grabbing quicker meals and being more relaxed! Most noticeably have been Mr 7’s sleep patterns and behaviour. He was honestly easier as a toddler (when we were strict) and that’s saying something. Plus on a personal level, my depression has been bad! Which is surprising because I’ve never been in a better place in my life! Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food. And let this page be my accountability to keep me on track!!! (Differently not a paid post )

16.01.2022 4 years ago! My goodness! I miss running these classes

15.01.2022 I’ve definitely made a lot of mistakes! But always try to ensure I’ve got some lessons to take away and do better next time! What’s your most valuable lesson you’ve learnt from failure?

13.01.2022 Actually had a super rough day with one of the kids yesterday! Getting glasses was not something they were too keen on. After a long day of tantrums, all I wanted was a long hot shower.. only to find out the hot water was used up by everyone before me But today is a new day! Started by tending to the garden and focusing on gratitude before I opened up any work emails. And now I’m feeling back in the flow.

13.01.2022 Hahahaha, maybe this is why my kitchen is taking so long to get finished

12.01.2022 I find it a bit (insert eye roll) that we even have to normalise breastfeeding. But to those fellow mothers who don’t I do want to make the point that these breastfeeding dedications are only to help remove the stigma some people experience when choosing to breastfeed. Not to increase the divide between breast and bottle, nor to say you SHOULD be breastfeeding. I know if I wasn’t breastfeeding, these types of campaigns would make me feel disconnected from my fellow mothering ...sisters... because it’s human nature. We compare and compete, even when we shouldn’t. But I do appreciate it becoming more widely accepted to breastfeed when and wherever baby gets hungry. I personally have never experienced a bad comment or encounter... so it’s either because the bubble I live in is quite strong or my resting bitch face is next level So to all the mothers out there... well done! Your babies are fed! Remember to support each other regardless of the way we choose to feed our children. For me, breastfeeding suits me because it’s easier. I’m lazy AF with cleaning and the thought of cleaning bottles and the prep side of things associated with bottle feeding scares me But I’m grateful it’s a choice we have if breastfeeding wasn’t a good match for us for whatever reason... be it mental health or inability. To my male business bank manager at Westpac that didn’t skip a beat when I had to feed Isla during a meeting yesterday.. go you! Despite being young and without children, you didn’t go all weird and awkward but kept on talking like a champ. Thank you for helping to #normalisebreastfeeding See more

03.01.2022 Review of Bray Farm Park - Rivermint St, Griffin Today the kids and I checked out Bray Farm Park after seeing it online and thinking it looked pretty cool. This park is definitely more suited to kids over 4 years old. I could see a cool fairytale party or something being held here. Here’s our rundown of the pros and cons. PROS: ... - In a low traffic area so didn’t really get very busy - Good for imagination play - Hunter loved the slide because it was quite big and went fast! CONS: - Not fenced - Lots of mozzies as it’s near a creek - No shade - No water station - No toilet Have you been here? What did you think?

02.01.2022 School run awkwardness.... surely I can’t be the only Mum that feels they never fit in!

01.01.2022 The truths of Queensland summer.... - You realise Westfield shopping centres aren’t just shopping centres, they are temples where we worship air conditioning - There’s no such thing as cold tap water, hot water comes out both - A cup full of ice is considered a great snack - No one cares if you walk around with no shoes on, but be warned, the ground will burn your feet off... - The best parking spot is determined by shade, not distance - Sticking your head in the freezer and taking deep breaths is considered normal - You develop a fear of anything metal - The seat belt buckle makes a pretty good branding iron - It only takes 2 fingers to steer a car - The effort of towelling yourself after a shower means you need another shower straight away - You worry your ceiling fan is spinning so fast it’s going to fly off and kill you - When the temperature drops below 30 degrees you feel chilly - Farmers are feeding their chickens crushed ice to prevent them from laying hard boiled eggs - When your walking barefoot to your car, you do a tightrope act on the white lines in the car park - You discover you can get sunburnt through your windscreen - When you step outside at 7am you will instantly break out into a sweat - You keep everything in the fridge including potatoes, bread and clothing - You will wait patiently until it starts raining until you go for a run - A blackout is life threatening because the fans and aircon no longer work - You catch a cold from having the fan turned up full blast all night long - Last but not least, (personally my favourite) the fuck is that? Is the name I give 98% of summer insects Good luck for surviving this summer friends, may the odds be ever in your favour. See more
