25.01.2022 As the year winds down and the wet season approaches our Veggie box trial plot is also requiring a little R and R too.... Without our wonderful supporters and the help along the way, this would be more of a dream than a reality. What we have learnt this year is phenomenal and has given us enough understand and know-how to honour the soil life and to launch us into next years Veggie boxes. As the diversity reduces in our market garden we have decided the boxes are done for 202...0 and we are finishing off the season at the Greater Whitsunday Farmers' Market. We have plenty of produce still to come so please come down and get your fridge stocked with local chem free veggies and garlic. Find us there weekly from tomorrow while we have produce available. Thank you once again and we would absolutely love ALL feedback and reviews on your veggie box experience. This will help us plan next year to do more of the bits you love. 23.01.2022 We've had a beautiful morning at High Valley Dawn Permaculture Farm Yeppoon doing a farm tour with Ross and Craig. If you are in Yeppoon make sure you take your family out to have a look at what these guys are doing! Its exciting to see this space evolving especially since our last visit almost 12 months ago. Its so important what these guys are practising here and its really wonderful they're doing their bit to educate in regards to regenerative methods so we can all have a brighter future on this land.

Delivering this Wednesday. * When using a garlic braid hang somewhere in your kitchen away from direct sunlight and heat sources (such as stove or kettle) * When using your garlic braid to keep it intact...... 19.01.2022 Whats in the box, whats in the box? Whats in the box todayyyyy??? Thanks to everyone who bought a veggie box this week. Unfortunately our computer has decided to stop working so we werent able to print the produce list. This week in your box you will find: Garlic... Sugar snap peas OR broccolini Cabbage OR cauliflower Beets yummy raw or baked!! Carrots Daikon great in soups/stews and pickled Mixed radish wonderdul raw and thinly sliced Turmeric why not add me to a tasty carrot cake for a really extra special flavour hit! Swede yummy baked or mashed Rainbow chard - we think the stems are the BEST bit. Wilt me down with salt, pepper olive oil and chopped garlic and pile me up on your toast topped with an egg! Kale why not chip me for a healthy snack! Parsley Calendulas - These flowers are edible and we like to use the petals to jazz up a salad or pretty up your favourite dish! greens are best stored seperate to other veggies in an air tight container. 12.01.2022 Here we go veggie lovers!! The suns out the breeze is beautiful and the markets are ready to go! We have lots of the usual yummy stuff with salad radishes back this week! We also have zuchinis! But the most exciting part is the introduction of our Garlic Bouquets!!! Treat a loved one or yourself to a beautiful bouquet of garlic. 12.01.2022 Thank you to all that bought a veggie box this week. You may have noticed a couple of bulbs of garlic sitting on top. Firstly we would like to let you know this is green garlic and has not been 'cured'. We put this in for people to try it green as no one sells it like that. It can be hard to peel but is so juicy! If its too hard to peel leave it on the bench for a week or 2 to cure. DON'T store in the fridge as it wont last long. We also forgot to add Mibuna and Galangal o...n the contents card. Mibuna has a strong mustard flavour and should be used sparingly if you're unfamiliar with that flavour. Galangal also known as Thai ginger, is fantastic in Thai dishes or even used to mildly spice up a stirfry. It is far more fibrous than ginger and is best micro plained or finely grated. Galangal has so many health benefits in my opinion its up there with turmeric. Let food be thy medicine and let medicine be thy food. - Hippocrates The main thing is to have fun creating nourishing food for your loved ones! Ali and Adam
