21.01.2022 I have this big 'to do' list in my head that is just too hard to ignore. This stupid list is made up of things that are mostly unrelated to each other. This list looks like this .... buy milk, return friend's call, sew button on a jacket, buy gift, plan evening meal, go for a walk, watch my favourite TV program, help with homework,review client's case...........There are days this list actually overwhelms me! While some tasks have to be done, there are others that are just a wish list. it is when I feel overwhelmed that I write down the things that ' I need to do' and the things 'I want to do'. All we need to do to lessen our mental load is to loosen up a bit, to let go, relax and to be happy to just 'be'. I always feel good when I take this path.and actually do something that I enjoy and park the chores that are non-essential!

It is not groundbreaking research as we have always known that our happiness is dependent on the strength of our relationship - not wealth, fame or job status. Simple strategies like cutting down screen time, talking with one another, reaching out to friends, sharing your stories or resolving family feuds, forgiving and moving on.....will help us live longer healthier lives.
14.01.2022 Michael Pollan says ‘If it came from a plant, eat it; if it was made in a plant, don't.’ Processed foods are so far removed from real food, filled with ingredients that we would never have in our pantry, we cant recognise the names or never consider using them in our daily cooking. So why are we prepared to pay money to eat trash! Look at the ingredient list, if you can’t recognise it or for that matter can’t pronounce it don’t buy it.

If you have healthy cholesterol levels, your blood sugar reading is within the normal range and your blood pressure readings are ok ....then you don’t need to look slim to prove you are healthy! The corollary to this is....just because someone looks slim and fit, it does not necessarily confirm they are healthy! Important to add.....eating nourishing ‘real’ food is all that matters!
