20.01.2022 BEARS have made the decision to postpone Stage 1 trials for U12, U13, U14 Representative sides as a result of the latest advice re the COVID-19 (Corona) virus. When more information is available, we will let you know but that isnt expected to be for many weeks now. Keep up the practice!

19.01.2022 Anyone have a better day than 12 year old Lily Bass? In Division 6 this morning - 3 overs, 3 maidens 5/0. #blowfly, #nextbigthang

18.01.2022 Dear HPJCC Players and Families, At present our clubs number one priority is to be part of a societal effort to minimise the impact of the COVID-19 (Corona) virus. Social distancing and social isolation (and hand washing) are critical at this time. ... Whilst children are statistically the least impacted by the virus they are however very effective vectors inadvertently spreading the virus to Mums & Dads and grandparents who experience a much harder time from the virus. The HPJCC parents that comprise the Management Committee of the club are united in a shared desire to limit the impact of the virus in our community. For that reason all HPJCC cricket related activities are on pause, our presentation day postponed and award presentations similarly postponed. They will happen - As soon as it is considered safe and appropriate to do so. Stay safe everyone please. Darren Sonter President Holland Park Junior Cricket Club

15.01.2022 Dear Players and Parents, in line with the response from Cricket Australia and Queensland Cricket our local associations have made the unprecedented decision to cancel all matches for the remainder of the summer season (including all Blaster programs). Unfortunately, the spread and impact of Coronavirus is just starting to be felt in our country so whilst we will have cricket at HPJCC back up and running as soon as we can - this may be protracted. Please stay safe and watch this space.

03.01.2022 Hi Everyone, As you know, over the last 5 years HPJCC has invested significant time, effort and cash to assist the Coorproo Cricket Club (CCC) with grants and inputs so they can improve their cricket facilities at their home at Bottomley Park. CCC are a hard working, dedicated group of volunteers providing a terrific community service. In the last two seasons CCC has grown by 40% reflectcing the efforts of the club and the population demand in the local area. ... Cricket has been played over summer at Bottomley Park for many, many decades and Coorparoo has been using the site as their home since 1980. Not anymore! The local Rugby Club, with a written endorsment by Brisbane City Council and without consultation with either the local Councillor or the club are removing the club from the site by the end of July. This action defies community belief and is counter Councils insistance at other sites that historical, established usuage is to be respected. We join with Coorparoo CC and now a host of other clubs to request an immediate withdrawal of the proposed action - this action, without consultation does not pass the pub test. Coorparoo CC is seeking our support by signing their petition as they seek to be reinstated onto the site, seek an opportunity to mediate any issues and achieve a rightful long-term sub-lease. Interesting to note and watch: HPJCC has been called to its own meeting with the same Council people that have pulled the rug from Coorparoo CC in the upcoming week. Watch this space. Consider supporting Coorparoos petition here: www.epetitions.brisbane.qld.gov.au/petition/view/pid/903

03.01.2022 Our volunteer army and our amazing kids make our club fantastic. Coach James rolled up his sleeves to do some oval repairs this last week. These things make a difference. Thanks James.

03.01.2022 Just in from Bundaberg - U13 Girls State Championship Winners are City Fever featuring 5 players from HPJCC (pictured). Well done Lily (c), Claire, Melanie, Riley and Kameryn on a terrific win and a week of fun.

02.01.2022 A very popular choice for Coach of The Year in 20/21 if the cheering was anything to go by. Engaged, fun, kind, decent and passionate - Shanmugaprasath Thiagarajah (but call me "Shan"). Well done.
