25.01.2022 What a season it has been for Holland Park Rangers, at the start of the season there was plenty of doubts inside and outside of the club how far we could go, and to finish 4th is a monumental achievement. With a lot of new players introduced, and opponents strengthening their squads and to take down the league winners and leaders, it is a wonderful and amazing achievement for the Rangers. The system and set up we had worked well, and we made use of the players we had for spec...ific positions became a well oiled engine. To be undefeated in 11 games straight is a an unbelievable record to have, and it looks to be that Holland Park Rangers will be a force to be reckoned with for many seasons to come. We would also like to celebrate Derek Lees victory in winning the MVP award for the PL. A sensation individual performance all year round with goals and assists, he has been a tremendous team member and leader, absolutely amazing achievement and victory for the himself and the team! Bring on 2017 I say, its going to an exciting pre-season to look forward to with Mustafa showing glimpses of amazing quality on the pitch! If you are interested, in joining us on this journey, player/coach/support, get in touch and wed love to include you to build a stronger club and future.

22.01.2022 Tough battle today against Monash United, they have definitely evolved from back in the day! 1-1 Draw with well fought match. Conceded from a corner, but came back strong with a sensational counter attack play down the right wing, with Dave working hard from Left Back to score! Draw vs Monash United 0-1 1-1 David Liu Ernest Tom... Solid performance from everyone! Unbeaten in the last 3 games! Keep it up boys!

22.01.2022 MCSA Premier League Round 9: Opponent: Seeker FC Result: Win 3-1 Scorers: Lincoln Loi & Derek Lee x2... Rangers saved their best for the best! It was a battle between 1st and 4th and it sure delivered an exciting match from kick off. Well aware of Seekers strength in the midfield and upfront, Rangers stuck to their game plan to combat the league leaders, in doing so the boys were able to catch their defenders off-guard with an early team counter attack to go up 1-0 early in the first half. They came back strong with limited chances and opportunities, Myles picked up possession in the midfield and with rare time and space he put a long range shot which looped over our keeper to bring it to 1-1 draw. The rangers kept pressing and didnt leave much space for Seeker and Logge was able to win one of many tackles in the middle to start a counter attack, threading a beautiful through ball to Derek which he still had work to beat their defender and a touch to put it pass the keeper, 2-1. Half Time. 2nd Half, the boys braced for a strong push back from Seeker, a few changes to their formation, however Rangers game plan was able to maintain control of the game and Seeker was unable to create much threats. Through another quick counter, rangers were able to bring men down into their attacking half quickly, through floating cross from Dave, Seekers keeper mis-read which slipped through his hands which landed right in the path of Derek to put it through in on an open goal. 3-1. Terrific game and contest between the two, the hard work from training throughout the season is definitely paying off. By far the rangers best performance of the season. Next week they have their arch rival VSA who has had strong performances throughout the season, the Boys will definitely look to get revenge from their season opener. Keep it up Rangers!!!

21.01.2022 The season begins for 2016, with our first competitive match in the Yamagata Cup against a 9 men J-United! Result: Win 2-1 Scorers: Johnson Lee, Liang Chu... Fantastic play and result, fantastic debut goal for Johnson Lee! Keep it up Rangers!!!!

21.01.2022 MCSA Premier League Round 6: Opponent: Melbourne Falcons FC Result: Draw 2-2... Scorers: Derek Lee x 2 (Penalty) Another nail biting, edge of the seat game between the Rangers and the Falcons which seems to be growing into a stronger rivalry between the two clubs with similar results in the past few matches. The boys got off to a slow start once again, Falcons catching everyone asleep with a long ball over the top, and was able to take the lead within the first 5 minutes of the game. None the less the Rangers pressed on and was awarded a freekick in our attacking half, which Clem was able to send it to the penalty spot where Derek was able to convert with a volley to bring it back to 1-1. 10minutes later, the Rangers manage to counter attack the Falcons with a bit more open play, down the right wing were Liang was able to cause trouble with his dribbling inside the box, to which the Falcons took him out and was awarded the penalty. Derek was able to step up, side the keeper the wrong way and convert, 2-1! Momentum and the strong wind was with the Rangers. 2nd Half kicked off, and the Falcons restructured their formation and line up and was able to pile on a bundle of pressure. Rangers spent most of the half defending, in a moment of transition we were caught off guard and a through ball coming from their full back was able to get through our defence, allowing their right wing to slot it past with a climatic finish off the post. Game ended at 2-2, Matt had an amazing performance in goals, keeping the boys alive in the game and definitely the point. It was a good fight given the lack of depth we had on the day. Deserved result at the end oft he game! Rangers will battle it out with DLS next week who are coming back in form so it will sure to be a great game!

20.01.2022 MCSA Premier League Round 10: Opponent: VSA FC Result: Win 1-0 Scorer: Collins Okwirry... On a freezing Sunday afternoon, with suspensions and injuries, Rangers were left with a depleted squad of 11 to face an arch rival VSA FC, which in the reverse fixture defeated the Rangers 1-3. The boys had a game plan to work with what they had on the day, with no subs available, there were a lot of fill in roles. None the less the guys defended really well against their strong forwards and neutralized all of VSA through/long ball opportunities. VSA lost the ball a few times in the middle of the park which lead to a few chances to our strike force partners Lincoln and Derek one on one with the keeper, however they were unable to finish under pressure. VSA didnt have many opportunities but looked threatening with a few dribbles through the middle. With around 15minutes to go, Dave sent a long ball down the right, which their full back picked up, turned around and put a tired back pass to their keeper who wasnt ready, Derek was able to pounce on the opportunity with a strong shot, VSAs Keeper parried the ball which landed beautifully in front of Collins directly infront with an open goal, finished it off with composure. 1-0!!! VSA pressed on to push forward, however nothing eventuated from their attacks, and ended at 1-0. It was an amazing team performance from the Rangers all over the park to pull through with a clean sheet and a victory to remain in the hunt in top 4 position. Unbeaten in the last 6 games to pick up 16 out of a possible 18 points, Rangers have been playing fantastic football, simply a terrific achievement so far. Hard work and training has paid off, and they will need to keep their momentum for this Sunday against Springvale SC this Sunday, which was an epic 3-3 draw in the reverse fixture! Keep up the fight boys!

20.01.2022 MCSA Premier League Round 12: Opponent: J United Result: Win 3-0 Scorer: Derek Lee, Deni Shkembi, Tom Miller... It was a battle of the conditions for the Rangers this Sunday, with a strong wind going down the pitch, the 1st half the boys were forced to play against the wind which made things extremely difficult to get through. J United did not use this to their advantage and was unable to create any opportunities. Rangers defended well, had a couple of chances however was unable to put them away. 2nd Half started strong for the Rangers, with the wind on our side, we managed to keep possession our attacking 3rd for most of the game. 5 minutes into the half, Dave was able to put in a great cross to find Derek at the near post with a great header to put the rangers up 1-0. Deni came on mid way in the 2nd half, a sequence of play on the left wing, rangers put in a great cross to find Deni who scored with his first touch of the ball! 2-0. 3 goal came in from a corner, to which Tom sweeped it into goal and luckily the J United player misread and went through his legs to make it 3-0. Another solid performance from the Rangers, a clean sheet once again which is great result and level of consistency. This will really boost the confidence of the boys as they battle against a hungry Kooyong United FC this Sunday, probably the most important game of the season between 3rd and 4th spot. Terrific effort and achievement from the Rangers only 1 point from the top, this season looks to have an exciting finish! LETS GO RANGERS!!!!!

19.01.2022 26/07/2015 Round 14: Holland Park Rangers vs Clube Result: Lose 3-4 Scorers: Collins 40 & 55... Carlos Yeung 70 A thrilling 7 goal match between a very hard fought game between the Rangers and the physical Clube. The rangers fought back from being 0-2 down, to level at 2-2 through great team play and finishes from Collins then losing the lead once again to a 50/50 contest and controversial penalty awarded to Clube. However the game was brought back to 3-3 with a terrific 25 yard freekick from Carlos on the left side of the pitch to curl in top right corner. Unfortunately the decisive winner for Clube was lead to by untidy lose ball deep in the box and slowing rolling into an open goal to which Clem was able to clear it off the line but Yin also going for it, the clearance came off Yin and back into the goal with only minutes to go in the game and finally ending at 3-4 to Clube. Disappointing for the Rangers as they have had winning momentum in the last two matches, but the Bye certainly didnt help by breaking the run. None the less the boys will push and train hard to battle against table leaders Kooyong and J United in the next 2 weeks! Stay tuned!

18.01.2022 MCSA Premier League Round 17: Opponent: Seeker FC Result: Loss 0-1... Sunday saw the Rangers lose their 2nd game in a row to the current league leaders Seeker FC. It was not an easy game for both sides, as the Rangers put up a solid defense against them leaving them with not many options but to send long balls down the pitch. Rangers countered very well, with a few times Derek was able to thread a few balls through to Lincoln and Mustafa but Seekers keeper came out quick to mop up any threats. In the final minutes of the 2nd half, Rangers conceded one of many corners throughout the game, Seeker threw as many players as they could afford to inside the box, catching the Rangers off guard with a quick corner, and was able to score the game winning header with only minutes to go. 0-1. The game ended soon after, but the boys definitely deserved a point from the game, Seeker did not have many threatening opportunities as the Rangers were able to neutralize all of their key players leaving them with nothing. None the less, they are league leaders for a reason. The boys are hungry and fired up to finish off the season with the last game against Odyssey this Sunday, to really seal off what was a terrific season the Rangers have had. Its an amazing achievement for a team that had quite a few fresh faces, to grow and develop into a title contending team within a season is phenomenal. Come on boys, show us what youre made of!! Lets Go Green!!!!!!

17.01.2022 MCSA Premier League Round 4: Opponent: Kooyong United FC Result: Lose 0-1... It was a game of strategy for the boys in green, they were up against a Premier League Giant having big wins against a few reputable teams. The boys conceded an early goal, being caught out by a long ball over the top, however the defensive line and midfield held up strong and stuck to the game plan and was able to keep them at 0-1. Rangers had their opportunities and chances on the counter attack, however we were unable to convert, opportunities wise it was quite even with shots on goal. It was a strong performance from the boys as they were able to shut down all of Kooyongs main attacking options and kept them at bay. Notable mention for Matt Chan as he made some great saves to keep the boys in the game. Well fought performance with so much more potential to grow from this performance. They will definitely be fired up and ready against CYSM in this Sundays Cup match!!! Lets Go Rangers!!!!

17.01.2022 Premier League Season kicks off this Sunday for the Rangers at Princess Park with our round one match against VSA, a well known opponent who always have the potential to challenge. We bring in a few familiar faces into the squad, James Chan, Anthony Macali, Matt Chan, Richard Logge, Tom Miller, Deni Shkembi and Barry May, DC of the past and now new Rangers, they bring a wealth of experience and quality to the squad so it should be a strong season for the Rangers! The boys will be hungry to make an impact in the league. Lets go Rangers!!!!!!

17.01.2022 MCSA Premier League Round 18: Opponent: Odyssey Result: Loss 0-1... Disappoint way to end the season off, we started really well but we werent able to convert. Once again a late goal from a strong freekick that Matt was able to get a hand on. Matt was definitely MVP for this game as he also saved a penalty. Complacent performance for the Rangers, not great to end on this note but none the less a terrific season all round! There is definitely more positives to celebrate! On to 2017!!!

16.01.2022 2/08/2015 Round 15: Kooyong United FC vs Holland Park Rangers Result: Lose 0-4 Unfortunately, it was a tough result for the Rangers. The boys fought hard, but Kooyongs class and composure proved too much for the Rangers and was unable to challenge against the reigning champions. ... This Sunday, big match against current league leaders J United!! Fire up boys!

16.01.2022 MCSA Premier League Round 2: Opponent: Springvale SC A game of swinging momentum and emotions, with the Rangers going down 0-2 at the half. The boys kept their heads in the game, with a few changes to the line up, we were able to fight back into the game to be 3-2 up with minutes to go. On the last play of the match, Springvale was awarded a corner, and was able to swing in a goal directly from the corner, to which the game ended at 3-3. ... Unfortunate to not walk away from the game with more, but terrific fight back from the boys which showed good spirit and passion. Goal Scorers: Roy Chan (P) Tom Miller Deni Schembi The boys will take this momentum into the next game for an epic battle against J United this Sunday! They will be hungry for more!

15.01.2022 MCSA Premier League Round 13: Opponent: Kooyong United FC Result: Win 1-0 Scorer: Lincoln Loi... Another windy day at Princes Park against a critical match of 3rd place Rangers and 4th place and last season Champions, Kooyong United FC. It was an intense 0-1 loss to the Rangers in the reverse fixture, so the boys looked to redeem themselves and keep a bigger distance between 3rd and 4th. With the wind behind us in the 1st half, the game plan was to control and contain Kooyongs attacks, their most damaging players on the flanks. With the set up, they were able to keep Kooyong to 1 shot on goal to which Matt was able to save. The rangers had a few terrific counter attack runs on the wings which caused all sorts of problems for Kooyong, however they were unable to put away those chances with a few unlucky calls from the Ref. Balanced 1st Half with the boys happy with their performance 0-0 at half time. 2nd half was much harder with the wind and the sun in the Rangers eyes, but none the less the game plan was unchanged. The midfield was able to contain and win possession back in the middle of the pitch, with a quick sequence of passes, Johnson who debuted at AM role, was able to pick up the ball turn around to play a Barcelona-like through ball to Lincoln who had acres of space to turn the keeper and put it through for the winning goal 1-0!!! Kooyong just wasnt able to penetrate through the Rangers defence, long balls which ended up being over hit or offside. With a few chances from both sides, the game ended at 1-0. Amazing victory against a highly respected opponent, the Rangers put themselves 4pts from 4th and still in the chase at 1pt from the top. Every game from here onwards count, the boys will need to keep up the hard work at training and push on to contend for the rest of the season! Important game against VFV who has been playing well in the last 3 games, so the Rangers will need to build on this momentum for a strong performance!

15.01.2022 MCSA Premier League Round 7: Opponent: DLS United Result: Win 1:0... Scorer: Derek Lee (Clement Chan) Almost an unchanged starting 11 from the previous week, the boys played to the game plan, and stuck to their strengths. DLS had more of the ball however were unable to penetrate or create any threats, which caused them to lose possession and turn it over to the Rangers. Goal came from a counter attack to which DLS was desperate to stop and gave away a foul top of the circle in the Rangers attacking half. Clem practically placed the ball in the same spot as last week against the Falcons and Derek was there once again to put it away to win the game. The rest of the match the midfielders took complete control of the game, any time DLS tried to come through Clem/Logge/Johnson/Jarrett cleaned up and won the ball back, which started a few counter attacks for the Rangers, however no one was able to make the most of the opportunities unfortunately and the game stayed 1-0. Terrific 3pts from the Rangers, another great team performance. They will definitely need to switch it on against Odyssey this Sunday! Will definitely be a exciting match! Keep up the good work boys!!!

13.01.2022 MCSA Premier League Round 3: Opponent: J United Edge of the seat nail biter for the Rangers, slow start once again for the boys to concede an amazing looping header that caught everyone off guard within the first 10minutes of the game. J United didnt get much of the ball or create many opportunities either. Rangers pressed on and was able to control the game and possession a bit more, until Carlos was able to pressure the J United full back to take the ball back deep in thei...r defensive half, made an easy lay off to a wide open Lincoln to which he slotted through! Derek had a few chances in the box but was unable to convert. 2nd Half started strong for the boys, physical play and high pressure broke the J United midfield down, and we were able to counter attack against them from the middle of the pitch, and Derek scored twice from terrific through balls from Roy, which one was a top corner finish and another a silky low ball effort which their keeper had no chance. However with 17minutes to go, Matt (our goal keeper) came out and unfortunately his timing wasnt great, gave away a penalty and his 2nd yellow card, which J United converted. 17min 10 men 3-2. Extremely brave effort of Jarrett stepping in goals, almost got to the penalty also, and saved some tricky shots from J United. Had to switch to a complete defensive formation, and the boys were able to keep everything out, but a lot of close calls. Goal Scorers: Lincoln Loi (Assist: Carlos Yeung) Derek Lee (Tom Miller) Derek Lee (Roy Chan) Terrific win, and this will be a massive confidence boost for everyone going into the Cup round this weekend! Should be a great game!! Keep it up Rangers!

13.01.2022 MCSA Premier League Round 1: Rangers got off to a poor start to the season on the weekend, losing 3-1 to VSA. The boys had their chances but was unable to convert. Goal was scored by Roy, who sprinted 50yards to latch onto Lincolns cross from the right wing, he some how managed to slip it past the keeper.... This Sunday will be against Springvale Central SC, the boys will need to bounce back strong! Come on Rangers!!!!

12.01.2022 MCSA Premier League Round 16: Opponent: Melbourne Falcons Result: Loss 1-3 Scorer: Johnson Lee... Unfortunately, the 11 game unbeaten run comes to an end for the Rangers on Sunday. We faced a full strength Falcons side at their home ground yet again, so quite unfamiliar conditions for the boys. Rangers got off to a good start from a sequence of play half way through the 1st half, the ball played through onto the left wing, Carlos was able to put in a cross to which Derek controlled and laid it off to a wide open Johnson who was able to slot it past the keeper near post. Great team goal! 1-0 2nd half the Rangers lost their composure, and with a sequence of mistakes including a foul in the box, gave Falcons a 1-2 lead, and with only minutes to go a cross from their left wing which Matt had a hand to, hit the cross bar and bounced into the path of their striker who scored an open header. It was a competitive game from both sides, the score-line definitely doesnt show it. The Rangers will be fired up to redeem themselves this Sunday against league leaders Seeker FC, hoping to repeat the reverse result, and challenge for the title! 2 more games to go Rangers, work hard, train hard and put in a strong finish! Lets Go Boys!!!

11.01.2022 9/08/2015 Round 16: J United vs Holland Park Rangers Result: Draw 1-1 Scorers: Derek Lee... Probably one of the best performances of the season for the Rangers, great link up play, composure and confidence on the ball, plenty of communication and fault-less defending. The boys took the lead through a freekick just on the edge of the 18 yard box, Carlos curled it over the 6 man wall which the goal keeper managed to get a hand to, parried it into the path of Derek where he awkwardly put it through for a goal! In the dying stages of the game, we conceded a free kick about 30yards out with a slight angle, J United was able to pull off a screaming free kick that our stand in keeper, Clement, was able to get his hands onto but there was too much power behind it. 1-1. Literally the dying seconds, as the final whistle blew after kick off. None the less, a lot of positives from this game as the boys were able to control the flow, and possession against the table leaders J United, a 1-1 is a fantastic result and given we were in the lead most of the game! Well done boys, keep it up!

11.01.2022 Holland Park Rangers is now recruiting! We are looking for players, coaches, sponsors of any calibre, we provide training and structure for all players at any level, of any background. We are looking to grow and strengthen for season 2017 and pre season training will commence shortly. Get in touch, meet the guys and the team and be part of HPR journey!

11.01.2022 MCSA Premier League Round 14: Opponent: VFV Community Result: Draw 1-1 Scorer: Roy Chan... It was a hard fought match for the boys today in icy cold conditions, once again the wind was a huge factor. The rangers started off slow, formation didnt stay compact and tight, and with the wind against them, VFV played long balls from their defense half which didnt cause too much trouble. However on a transition play, the rangers did not get back into their shape which allowed VFVs centre back to bring the ball down the right side of the pitch and play a through ball onto their winger, which he turned and got in between our back 4, and slotted the goal through. VFV opted to slow things down instantly and tried to sit back against us. Rangers pushed back, where Deni had great volley from outside the box to which their keeper had to pull off a great diving save to keep their lead. Rangers had a few opportunities from corners and free kicks, however just werent able to finish it off. 0-1 at half time. The game plan had to change and applied pressure onto VFV, with the wind this half, the boys kept possession and stayed in the attacking half. However on a normal day we would make the most of opportunities, but things werent working for us, but we still pushed on. We switched to a 442 formation to extend our attacking options, through a sequence of play from Lincoln on the right of the box, he played it square towards the penalty spot where Roy was able to make the most of it, and squeezed it through the keeper. 1-1! With so much on the line, every point counts. Game ended shortly after. Close call for the Rangers and certainly a big wake up call. Complacency crept in and we got caught off guard. None the less with 4 games left, we are still in it all the way til the end. Fight on boys, they will need to pick themselves back up with a revitalized DLS United this Sunday to bring the momentum and confidence back up!

10.01.2022 MCSA Premier League Round 5: Opponent: VFV Community Result: Win 3-1... Scorers: Lincoln Loi x 3 A terrific bounce back from the Rangers this week with a new entrant to the competition and very much unknown opponents, however the boys stuck to the game plan and was able to pounce on the opportunities. Terrific build up play from defence through to the midfield, and completely out played VFV. Unfortunate way to end the game however the rangers had already put the result out of reach for their opponents. Terrific win boys and great finishing from Lincoln! Next week will be against a very familiar opponent Melbourne Falcons, which assures to be an exciting match. Come on Rangers!!!

10.01.2022 Huge Performance today against Melbourne Falcons Football Club Reserve! 2 - 1 Victory and an awesome performance by everyone on the pitch!

09.01.2022 Yamagata Cup vs CYSM Result: Lose 0-1 An unfortunate result for the boys, having some momentum in this competition, the Rangers got caught out on the back foot and conceded early. It was a good match between two familiar sides, however the Rangers just wasnt able to convert their opportunities to get back into the game.... Congrats to CYSM and Good luck for you in the rest of the competition. Yamagata is definitely getting closer for the boys, next season lads!

09.01.2022 On a special mention, unfortunately one of Rangers key players and leader on the pitch Roy Chan suffered what might be an ACL injury to his right knee. He has been a monental figure in the squad with a never give up mentality and always fighting spirit, we all wish him a speedy recovery and hope to see him back on the pitch with a full recovery.

08.01.2022 Yamagata Cup Round 2: Opponent: ZimSoccer Result: Win 2-1... A terrific display against a lesser known ZimSoccer on Sunday, the Rangers stuck to their strengths, with the midfield doing a great job in intercepting and controlling the pace of the match. Deni having missed the last match due to a minor injury came back in fine form scoring both of goals for the Rangers and securing a 3rd round place against a well known CYSM team hungry for glory. A decent performance from a few of the younger lads stepping up and showing plenty of potential. Will need to bring our best for this coming week against a dominant and unbeaten Kooyong this Sunday! The boys will keep this winning mentality and momentum into the game!!

06.01.2022 7/06/2015 Yamagata Cup Quarter Finals J United vs HPR Result: Lose 0-2 Melbourne Winter is never too kind, especially on Sunday it was very cold and windy conditions but the boys geared up to redeem themselves from the league match earlier in the season. With a few key players returning for availability, the boys were extremely motivated and eager to get on the pitch. ...Continue reading

04.01.2022 MCSA Premier League Round 15: Opponent: DLS Result: Win 3-1 Scorer: Tom Miller, Lincoln Loi & Derek Lee... Rangers bouncing back to their winning ways against a DLS team fighting to avoid relegation on Sunday. It was perfect conditions with little wind and the sun out, which was probably the main affect as it made it hard for the players to see. First half was tense, and DLS had most of the ball however werent able to penetrate and take advantage with the sun in the Rangers eyes. Most came from deep long balls which was easily dealt with by the defensive 4. Rangers came close on a few occasions from set pieces, Derek and Richard both missing headers by inches. Clear cut chances Rangers dominated but were not able to take advantage of the opportunities. Half time ended 0-0. The boys kept at it, as their set up and game plan was working, and chances were created and they were determined that it would come. In the first 10minutes of the game, through an interception in the middle of the park, ball moved up to the top of the box where Tom was able to chip the keeper to which everyone thought was going out, however dipped in time to beat the keeper. Audacious finish to put the lads in front. Not long after that, the boys worked the ball from defence onto the left wing, which Carlos was able to get it past a couple of DLS players to play it to Derek who was able to thread a through ball to Lincoln for an easy finish. Great team goal all round. 2-0 DLS fought back during a failed rangers counter to which they were able to transition quickly to release their right wing, who was able to bring it deep and into the box, they managed to hold possession and laid it off to the top of the box for a shot and through on goal. 2-1. The last goal came from a long goal kick from Matt, which the sun took out 3 DLS defenders and allowed it to bounce on to which Derek took advantage of and slot it through for a goal 3-1. We had a debut player that came on final 10minutes, Mustafa, young talent which showed a lot of threat in the striker position, he had one of two close offside calls otherwise would have been on 1v1 with the keeper, and he showed terrific vision when he had the ball top of the box to pick out Collins incoming at full pace, but unfortunate not to finish off a great through ball. Strong performance from the Rangers, with only 3 games to go, they will decide their own faint. They will need to bring the momentum from this game to this Sunday against the league leaders Falcons who have been dominating this season. Come on Rangers!!!!

02.01.2022 MCSA Premier League Round 8: Opponent: Odyssey FC Result: Win 3-2... Scorers: Lincoln Loi x2 & Derek Lee Another nail biting win for the rangers on Sunday in a wet and cold condition Princess Park. The boys got off to a good start by taking the lead through Lincoln 10 minutes into the half. However for a 10minute patch late in the 1st half we lost focus and conceded 2 consecutive goals which took us to Half time at 1-2. We made a couple of changes at the half to combat their speed, which worked well, as their opportunities got shut down and was left with not much. About 10minutes into the 2nd half, from a throw in, Barry was able to whip in a cross from the left which Deni and his defender missed, and Lincoln was on the end of t hat to put it through to bring us back to 2-2. The boys played a high pressure game which created a lot of turn overs from Odyssey, and we were able to counter attack them late in the 2nd half, Derek had possession down the middle to which it was a 3 on 2 situation, he took it on himself shot from just outside the box and put past the keeper to win the game 3-2. At that point, Odyssey had nothing but try to show a bit of fight, however they were shut down instantly. Great fight back from the boys, another solid and courageous performance from the Rangers. A week off, and then we go into a huge match against league leaders Seeker FC which will be an exciting match up with both teams in form. It will sure to be a great game! Keep it up Rangers!!!

01.01.2022 MCSA Premier League Round 11: Opponent: Springvale Centre SC A Result: Win 1-0 Scorer: Lincoln Loi (Derek Lee)... A windy and overcast afternoon, the Rangers battled against an aggressive and fiery Springvale Centre, which in the reverse fiture saw 6 goals and plenty of controversy. The game was decided by an attack down the wing to which Derek was able to turn his defender down the right and give himself some space to put in a cross to Lincoln who was able to pick it up, and scored with a deflection. The formation stood up and defense was rock solid as Springvale only managed to put up 1 shot on goal which Matt was able to stop. Springvale just ran out of ideas constantly trying to bomb it down the pitch but the Rangers back 4 was solid and barely let anything through. Another strong performance from the Rangers to get the 3points to bring them 3rd place in the league! A terrific achievement none the less, but they will need to keep up the hard work as they face a re-invigorated J United who has been in a good run of form. A great match I am sure. Fight on Rangers!!!
