25.01.2022 And just like that... footy’s coming back!! It’s the perfect time to look back and share a project we were involved in around 14 years ago; The Olympic Stand at the ‘G!! We provided all of the precast seating units, suspended slabs, beams, columns and panels @ Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG)

22.01.2022 A major upside for all builders using precast concrete is the efficiency of construction. For traditional insitu concrete builds, there is a large amount of onsite formwork, as well as, scaffolding needed... we eradicate this. As you can see at one of our current jobs, by utilising precast beams, we were able to provide the builder with both the strength and long spans required, while eliminating the need for any scaffolding or framework. Additionally, other trades can start/continue work as soon as the concrete is installed... no waiting around for the concrete to cure... It’s a win-win! @ Toorak, Victoria, Australia

21.01.2022 Last week we shared some photos of our precast Super-Tees being installed... well here’s a video to show you even more! The use of #precastconcrete has allowed the project to keep rolling along at an extraordinary pace! Thanks for sharing NEXTDC and keep up the great work Kapitol Group! We love seeing our Concrete take shape!... #concreteconstruction #precast #hollowcoreconcrete

20.01.2022 Back in 2013, our precast concrete solutions assisted in the redevelopment of The Werribee Open Range Zoo. The brief was to create a rammed earth look to align with zoo's branding and African safari theme. Due to the project size, it was not possible to use rammed earth or in-situ as structural durability wouldn't have been achieved. However, with the use of #precastconcrete the look was successfully accomplished, while ensuring a quality and consistent build, structural integrity and speedy installation. What could have perhaps been a 2-3-month project was installed in two days. @ Werribee Open Range Zoo

20.01.2022 Taking a look back at a commercial project which included an underground car park and Precast Panels with shape cut outs to provide an architectural edge... THE DETAILS: All aspects of precast were utilised in this 4-storey structure ranging from #precast balconies, stairs, structural walls, architectural walls, columns, prestressed beams, conventional beams, Hollow core floor planks and lift and stair shafts and lids. ... The entire site was excavated, and an under-ground carpark created with the use of precast columns beams and hollow core planks. The span of hollow core planks up to 16.5meters has created a huge 1874 m2 of space of car parking areas under the ground level. The office tower consists of four levels of hollow core flooring with architectural precast walls on the outside perimeters and a stair and lift shaft core in the centre of the structure. The exterior walls of the Forster Road project have various patterns cast into the precast, including squares, diamonds and rectangles in the panels, as well as a stacked effect, which gives the tower a unique and striking edge. @ Notting Hill, Victoria, Australia See more

17.01.2022 Check out these Super-Tee beams going straight from our yard to being installed on-site at NEXTDC’s brand new data centre in Tullamarine. An exciting project with Kapitol Group, where the use of #precast Super-Tee beams are designed to achieve 15 kPa (1.5 tonne/m2) loading and clear span of 20 metres. With the help of the Super-Tee beams, Victoria’s only Tier IV certified Data Centre will have 11,000m2 of floor space. @W Hunter Transport @KapitolGroup #precastconcrete #superteebeams #concreteconstruction #construction #hollowcoreconcrete

14.01.2022 The fourth and final floor is now installed! That means we’ve delivered 84 Super Tees, 274 Hollow Core planks and 72 mini slabs, totalling over 5,100 tonnes and over 8,300 sqm of #PrecastConcrete.

05.01.2022 We’ve teamed up with Liberty Equipment Hire to give away a $100 JB Voucher and a $50 Bunnings Voucher. Follow the instructions on this post for your chance to win! Good luck

04.01.2022 HISTORY OF EDZELL HOUSE We are taking off the hard hats and bringing out the textbooks to share some history about one of Melbourne’s most marvellous heritage listed properties; Edzell House, our office for the next few months. The Queen Anne Toorak mansion was built in 1892 for Melbourne Lord Mayor, James Cooper Stewart, and had a ballroom extension built in 1895. The original size was astounding; a 30-plus room mansion, with the original driveway being what we now know... as St Georges Rd, Toorak. The estate also has a beautiful claim to fame, being the location for many private concerts by Dame Nellie Melba. The mansion is set on a 6023sqm block leading down to and looking over the Yarra River, with city skyline views sights our teams are thoroughly enjoying every day. Presently, the original house consists of 7 over-size apartments and we are a part of the team building a waterfront home for the current owner. @ Toorak, Victoria, Australia

04.01.2022 Yesterday our team was busy installing #precastconcrete for a residential job in Kew. In half a day our team installed 36 Hollow Core Planks and 3 floor slabs, totalling 332.4m2 of floor space and weighing in at 142.1 Tonnes! What an effort We were stoked to hear how impressed the builder and owner were. They both commented on how quick the installation was, how precast has accelerated the build time and how it allows other trades to come in and work straight away. @ Kew, Victoria

03.01.2022 You may have been keeping up with one of our current residential jobs. Being a long block leading down from the road to the Yarra and having a heritage listed house on the block, there was always going to be some access complications! To ensure safety, functionality, durability and compliance we specifically designed and constructed a temporary crane access deck. The 220 Tonne main mobile crane also had to lift down a Franna crane to dual lift heavy precast elements that were to be installed too far away from the main crane. Check these jaw dropping photos out what you might not be able to see is the small 35mm clearance from the existing heritage listed building on the property that we had to work with

03.01.2022 This week our team have been busy installing Hollow Core Planks @ivanhoegrammarschool. The five-storey sporting facility complex, managed by @bldg.eng, is progressing quickly and we can’t wait to see the final product! #hollowcoreslabs #precastconcrete
