Photographing Nekije and Adem’s wedding was a whole day affair for me, with the process beginning at sunrise with hair and make-up and ending late into the night. There was a drizzle of rain on their wedding day, and it was a beautiful occasion, family were singing and dancing early and it was a day that involved the whole family. The wedding was a complete eye-opener for me and demonstrated beautiful... traditions, the excitement was indescribable, I didn’t want the day to end. Nekije’s mother created her beautiful wedding gown. She left her family home en route to meet her groom in a classic Chev. The reception included traditional Albanian dancing and all the family and friends got involved. The music was incredibly festive and fun. Nekije reflecting on her wedding day said it was magical. It was everything I imagined it to be, except for the rain of course but I wouldn’t change it at all. The day goes by so quickly and the best thing to do is go with the flow.
