21.01.2022 How are you connecting with music throughout this pandemic? This performance by Chris Thile from Punch Brothers brought tears to my eyes. He's such a virtuosic and present performer - I saw Punch Brothers last year at the State Theatre here in Melbourne and it was bloody awesome! Can't wait to go and check out some gigs after all of this is over!

I haven’t been very musical over the past few months as I’ve had my hands full becoming a mum to a beautiful little girl It has been a unique time to become a new parent, amidst the craziness of what’s happening around the world. I had a few spare minutes yesterday to pen a tune about my own experience of isolation, I’d love to know what yours has been like. Don’t mind the uke and vocal tuning... it’s been a long pandemic. lyrics below... for anyone interested. // It’s a freezing winter's day out west of Melbourne When I step outside my breath comes out as fog So it's lucky I suppose that I've got nowhere to go It's another groundhog day in isolation When we moved here it was warm and I was pregnant As the autumn leaves fell I became a mother For our little baby girl this house is her whole world And I'm glad she doesn't feel this isolation (Chorus) They say no man is an island Well I'm a woman lost way out to sea Get on the phone to remind myself I'm not alone It's a disconnected world for you and me While the planes sit still and grounded on the tarmac The months pass slow when family's apart On a rainy afternoon the day can't come too soon When we break the walls down and let the borders open (Chorus) In the meantime I'll keep busy just like always Tell myself they had it much worse in the old days Across the city night and day we're all alone in our own way But we're alone together, that's the way of isolation (Chorus)
