25.01.2022 Every part of the work I do involves my hands. And soul. Quite often there are little hours in the day to share what I do & whilst I understand there is a place for generating business through varied social media platforms, my tiny little business has grown, quite rapidly, by word of mouth. This is in fact much more fulfilling for me than hearing 'I saw your food on Insta so wanted to order.' I delight in hearing, 'You made dinner for a friend / family member' & that is lar...gely how my diary has filled. Every inch of space in February & March were filled & with that, I have also strived, for once, to create some form of work / life balance. It was enormous for me in choosing to take a few days over the Christmas period, as whilst the work will (hopefully) always be there, you really learn at times how there is no price tag to special time. My heart is out there for those that have once again had to cancel occasions & whilst businesses hurt through this, once again, there is a cancellation story I was quietly told yesterday that really makes the heart hurt. Our current times pose very different challenges to each of us individually & I am continually aware of this. As I sadly saw off my Summer helper for new adventures at uni (but also very happy to see amazing people moving forward) the universe provided me with another special person. To work alongside me a little to ease the workload, but also to share thoughts & hopefully.... make me be a little more orderly. The past few weeks have largely been filled by the 'creative asks; I'm work at my best when left with little more than 'vegan lunch for 10' or 'grazing for the family' rather than very specific asks; somehow those exact specifics throw my brain into chaos. I think colour, texture & in all honesty, food I would share with my own nearest & dearest. To all individuals, businesses & families out there doing it really tough through these times, I am sending you love & when I am able to, will be sharing that love through my food. I have decided to run a small Weekend Dinner Menu this Friday as some prior bookings are being held to the 11th hour; I have promised these people should we be allowed to go ahead, I will pull it together for them (somehow) this Saturday. 25.01.2022 Just a little reminder... The Weekend Dinner menu will NOT run over Easter Friday & Saturday. Shared Dinners, Family Items (whole pies, tarts & Sweet Things) can be pre-ordered for Easter Sunday & Easter Monday.... Grazing plates are also available. Please note that orders will be taken until 4pm NEXT TUESDAY for any Easter bookings to ensure I can work alongside suppliers to provide. All enquiries are best by email detailing your ask & the time of day you are looking at- lunch or dinner. As of April 1st there will be a 10% price increase on all menu items due to GST registration. Please take note that all whilst menus are priced, each will increase on this date. For any further details, please check the website for menus, ordering details & general enquiries. Each menu gives an estimate serving size as part of a Shared Meal. Most dietary requirements can be covered & are indicated as such. 22.01.2022 Today's oven queue has felt a little relentless but there is light at this hour of the day as things feel a little under control for Christmas Eve collections scattered throughout the day tomorrow. It is always a genuine pleasure to meet new customers but in all honesty there is a real pride in having a regular customer base, including places the I supply. I do believe friends & business can work well. All minutes in the day tomorrow are booked for pre-ordered catering; this... can be as simple as a cake or as elaborate as what is required for all 25 of you sitting down to lunch come the 25th. Thank you to all who have supported me in this brave little leap over a year ago to carve my way doing what I love. The hands, mind & feet are taking a little breather & I will be back in the kitchen in time to create New Years feasts & supply the local businesses I love working alongside. 17.01.2022 It appears many a Christmas & Christmas Eve table shall be looking similar to this one this year as I have been overwhelmed with enquiries for delicious things to share over those special days. For this very reason, Shared Dinner items have officially closed well ahead of when I expected to still be taking orders. Every ask deserves the love I give & I also work alongside many small local producers with whom I respect & hold the same values that things are not endless. Qualit...y & ethics have boundaries. There may be space over the few days leading up for the odd cake but entire shared items have definitely hit their limits. I will be breaking for the week leading into the new year so should you have enquiries for items over the New Years' Weekend, please make an enquiry as soon as possible. Thanks you again. 17.01.2022 Christmas dates for those that are asking (& booking). The Weekend Menu runs this weekend for pre-orders. Weekend Dinners are single, hand-crafted meals perfect to pop straight into the oven or microwave at home or in the lovely place you're calling home for now. This menu also includes larger items suitable for families.... Orders are taken until 4pm the day prior to collection (Friday & Saturday) unless already sold out. Larger menu items require a minimum 48 hours notice. Next week is loaded with pre-ordered catering for Christmas & Christmas Eve tables. These meals are from the Shared menus directly off the website & all orders for next week are fully booked. I will be back in the kitchen Thursday 31st December & the New Years weekend is open for bookings. There are no Weekend Dinner menu items available over the New Year weekend- please make an enquiry by email should you wish to book something to share, in advance. I will be back in the kitchen as January rolls along & the Weekend Menu will run all of January. Please note that there is NO DELIVERY available. 10.01.2022 For the MANY asking.... I am officially back in the kitchen this week (though I have been in & out filling orders for businesses I supply). My time out has been what I have called my 'beef 'n reef' trip for those familiar with that particular dish.... I have seen both sea & high country (fish & cattle) & covered many miles across the state in what has been a very special time out. Some have wondered why I chose such a busy time of year to have a breather & what many don't kno...w is what the bookings looked like for December & what February is becoming. Time, I am learning, is a precious thing & many I admire in business speak of the need to plan time out to both rest the mind & body as well as ensuring there continues to be a joy in what you do. The Weekend Menu runs again this weekend for pre-ordered dinner collections Friday & Saturday. Larger family items (pies, tarts & whole cakes) are available on this menu & require a minimum 48 hours notice. Orders for single items off the menu are taken until 4pm the day prior to collection- please note all meals are 'capped' so the best option is to order as early as possible to ensure your order can be filled. Menus for special occasions & larger groups can be found on the website- use the menu dropdown to see what is available & please read ordering times for specific requests. 05.01.2022 What a whirlwind few weeks.... as I have mentioned MANY times, my weeks ahead are often largely booked. Not a day, nor a week has been the same lately & my days have involved running my regular Weekend Dinner Menu, providing for a couple of special local businesses, to special asks for special occasions. Family gatherings & what seems to be the new normal- 'intimate elopements'. Have to say I still don't get this one when there are more than 2 there.... I always pictured a Pa...lm Springs bride & groom flee but guess as International borders are closed, we are all closer to home & the word 'intimate' has a whole new meaning. As does elopement.... A few updates for those asking or planning ahead for the impending Easter period. This weekend, the regular Weekend Dinner menu will run for Friday & Saturday collections. All menus are easily accessible on the website & indicate clearly minimum cut-offs for ordering & how to do so. ALL the FAQs are there too (I spent a great deal of time on them as there were similar FAQs regularly) so please look there- you might find the answer to your question before you need to ask. Shared Menus are always enquiry-based & require advance notice. Not only may the day be booked well in advance, I also pride working alongside small, ethical producers & we do not run as machines. The Weekend Dinner menu will NOT run over Easter Friday & Saturday. Shared Dinners, whole items such as pies, tarts & cakes can be pre-ordered for Easter Sunday & Easter Monday.
