21.01.2022 Soft Opening tomorrow 23rd November 9am. Grand opening mid December . ~Chiera and Sons Fresh Market ~ ~Joannas Kitchen~ Wow.... what a journey it has been! ... So ....Let's go! When we found this tiny photo of nonno Frank, we said it meant something...we need to go back to our grass roots . Not just with his life in local produce since 1939 but a celebration of that life, a life we have been raised in. A life we love. A life on the farm, a life part of the old east end markets, a life in the fruit shop. Back in the early years it was very common for a father and son to team up in business....and Tony enjoyed working along side his dad growing up. That tradition carried on when Tony and Frank teamed up in 2005 to co-own Hollywood Fresh. It was a sure fit that when we found this photo that the name had to come with it as did the whole rebrand and concept of our new store. The store is filled with theatre and character. From old tools displayed from nonnos Franks shed, to our gorgeous brick arches which resemble the old east end market feel, retro tiling and oldschool neon lighting.... we want you to feel your in a place you never want to leave! And our biggest piece of theatre.... Joannas Kitchen!! Franks sister Joanna has had a love for cooking Italian food from a very early age. All taught through her mum, nonnas, and Aunt Mary.... it was an absolute must that when we began our design concept, that Joanna had her own area to create marvellous traditional Italian food.... you have all seen her on MKR 2013 .... now your can watch her in the act... everyday! Her food will be available for take home meals and catering options. A "dine in" style is on the cards for the very near future! Now as you walk through, you are greeted with a big illuminated sign saying "Welcome To The Family " And that's exactly what we want you to be apart of! Our family! Stay safe peeps! I've run out of text space!!

20.01.2022 How amazing!! This whole pay it forward thing has been nothing but remarkable! Now even our community kids are giving up their pocket money / tooth fairy money to pay it forward! Here we have Reenie and James Reenie is amazing! She is a Heart Kid She makes these little plush hearts and wanted us to hand them out along with these bunches of flowers she paid with her own money, how sweet! Then we have James, a SUPER STAR at Hollywood Plaza who BRIGHTENS up our mornings ev...eryday! he handed us $20 to pay it forward! What a champ! Round of applause to these 2 wonderful members of our community.... bright futures ahead!! Winning in Salisbury Downs!!

18.01.2022 12 years ago these 2 fellas asked for an after school job...... It was the beginning of not only 2 fantastic long-term staff members but 2 great friendships. They are basically family as are all our staff Its been a pleasure to watch these 2 fellas grow into 2 brilliant hardworking young men taking life to the next level. Chris and Mark are now embarking on the exciting challenge of opening their own store! As sad as we are to see them leave, we are very happy and excite...d for their new venture Arndale Shopping centre will be their new home and they will both be the co-owners of their newly rennovated fruit and veg store due to open early November. Today is your last day officially with us Mark, Chris... thankyou both so much for helping our business grow to the standard it is today we are very grateful for all your years of loyalty and dedication. 15.01.2022 Our love for bricks comes from the Old East End Market days... the days when, back then, a young Tony and his father Francesco Chiera would make the treck from their Warerloo Corner farm, truck full of tomatoes and taken right into the heart of the city where the old produce markets used to be.... in the very early hours of the morning....ahh the good ol days hey!! So... how can we give our customers that old world market feel? Just like the good ol days??.... we can't take you to the East End Markets.... they are all apartments now ..... so we thought....LETS BRING THEM TO HOLLYWOOD PLAZA (to the best of our ability ) Thanks Elephant Brick Co... you had the prefect product for us to work with!! 10.01.2022 Important please read!!(The extended closure was a good decision!) Late this afternoon it had come to our attention that on Saturday 14th November between 10am and 11am a positive covid 19 case had visited our popup store.....the store is out in the mall. We ask you check the SA health website for all guidelines if you were in this location during this time. All our staff are now being tested and tonight this area will undergo a professional DEEP CLEAN as will the entire sh...opping centre. Public safety is paramount to us. Our mall displays from that day which we're our temporary displays have now been discarded. The remaining will be thoroughly sanitised. When we open Monday,, it will be a brand new store, absolutely sanitised all necessary covid guidelines will be inplace. We have always been honest and transparent with our customers and keeping you all safe and healthy is in our best interest!! This has been a big shock to our family as this was not how we have planned to celebrate 18 months of hard work..... but it is what it is and we will always put our best foot forward with are highest priority being public safety. You are all amazing and we can't thankyou all enough for your support! To all those who are infected with Covid 19...(and all those with any other illness) we wish you all a very speedy recovery. 07.01.2022 ********* BIG ANNOUNCEMENT ********* On Monday 24th August we will be CLOSED for 1 day only!! It is this day we board up our entire store and set up trade in the mall space which will reopen the following day Tuesday 25th :) Yes, finally, the rennos will begin and it will be a minimum 8 week process... So....it will be like a little farmer's market in the mall for the next couple of months, we will still stock all your faves, it just won't be presented as fancy however we will do our best! Its gonna be fun! Now, joanna won't be making any food in this period as we won't have refrigeration for her product. So she sincerely apologies! SO IF YOUR A MONDAY SHOPPER..... next week, come either Sunday or Tuesday!! So..... when we re open, expect a brand new store (very similar layout besides the additional space but everything new! And ofcourse Joannas Kitchen where she will have a large range of take home meals, pizzas just to name a few . Joannas kitchen will be her own brand and business in itself but her home will be within our store..... the store will be designed to accommodate a small area of "bar seating" where eventually we will offer sit down meals so you can enjoy joannas food in the ambience of our store....but first off it will just be the take home meals and pizzas and a huge variety at that. Her kitchen will also be exposed so you can see her and her team preparing what your going to eat! Nothing will be brought in....it will all be made fresh... right infront of your eyes using the freshest ingredients that surround you! We will have a full range over the counter deli which will give you a huge selection of cold meats and antipasto! Also a dedicated cheese fridge and a small offering of frozen seafood! Aswell as our weekly dose of oysters! All this and everything else you already see will be on offer :) And as you already know, we will no longer be Hollywood Fresh, the stores brand will change to be a more personal fit to our family name and a tribute my nonno (Tony's father) and our life in local produce..... We hope you will love it. In the meantime, please bear with us and our mall trading! We didn't want to leave you high and dry so we felt it the best way to keep you all with your fresh produce :) Its still us!! Just a bit different! Sorry for the long post!!

06.01.2022 19TH NOVEMBER THE WALL COMES DOWN!! This Sunday coming will be Hollywood Fresh last day of trade. We will be closed Monday 16th, Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th to prepare for Thursdays opening. Originally it was going to be Tuesday the 17th but we are waiting on certain products to arrive from interstate which has held us up 2 days... but now it's FB official! Lol .... So Thursday the 19th we will open our doors :) It will be a soft opening as we will be finding our feet and we plan to do a grand opening in early December.... but even on a soft opening we will have some great specials! Its been a long road, longer then we anticipated but we are nearly there...we are so grateful for all of our BRILLIANT customers who have supported us through the renovations and you have all been incredibly patient and we are so THANKFUL!!
