25.01.2022 Holmebank Rocking Horses have settled in really well in Australia and we have had some wonderful and really special horses to restore from clients from all corners of Australia. It is lovely to bring back to life some of the lovely old English horses that have travelled to these shores from the Uk. All being well by the end of February we will be in a position to take in more horses for restoration or preservation. 21.01.2022 For the last few weeks we have been busy getting this old girl back to life. She is a G & J Lines No 21 from around the early 1900’s. As you can see she arrived in quite a state. We couldn’t repair the stand unfortunately as it was too far gone. We made a new lower jaw and had to reset all her legs. She rocks beautifully now.

19.01.2022 We have just finished the work on this little FHAyres horse today. He is such a cutie and doesn’t take up a lot of space. Thank you to Michele Hollister for supplying the hand made glass eyes.

17.01.2022 Here is another beautiful old horse ( we think around 1820 ) that we have recently had the pleasure to bring back to life. David has loved working on this old girl.

09.01.2022 FOR SALE ‘WINSTON’. He has finally arrived here safely with us in Sydney and has cleared quarantine . He is now looking for a new home. He stands 38 high and has been very sympathetically restored by David Kiss. We simply fitted him with a saddle, bridle, mane and tail. We are not 100% sure but think he could be an FH AYRES horse from about 1885 there are too many similarities to the horse in the book ‘A Kiss of Rocking Horses’ on page 45 to make us think differently. $6200. 08.01.2022 FOR SALE ‘THE COLONEL’ just arrived from England and cleared quarantine. He is a fine old gentleman standing 53 . Exquisitely carved and oozing character and has a wonderful turn of head. He has had a full restoration with us at Holmebank. We think at some stage he has had some work done to his ears and mouth. We have replaced the hoof rails and support pillars on his stand. He is for sale unattributed as we are not sure of the maker but he is a grand old chap. His saddle was made specially for him by the renowned master saddler Jasper Highet of Devon and is a perfect copy of an English saddle complete with knee rolls and flocked panel. This is fully removable as is his bridle. Although he is a very old chap he is extremely sound and very rideable. $6500 please PM for more details.

05.01.2022 Just finished working on this Roebuck for a client with Scottish Ancestry. We sourced some Ogilvie hunting tartan for the saddle cloth and managed to obtain an Ogilvie crest badge which were able to use on the martingale.

02.01.2022 Last year we sold our G&J Lines Galloper to a lovely lady but unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances he FOR SALE again. If you are interested in knowing more about this special horse we can put you in touch with the owner. ‘FIN’ was fully restored by David here at Holmebank before we moved to Australia. It is a rare opportunity to own such a special horse. The asking price is 3500 ONO. ( THE HORSE IS IN THE UK ) I will post a little video that we took of him.

01.01.2022 We have now completed this very pretty little extra carved F H Ayres horse that we have been working on. Our client didn’t send his stand as it was in good condition so he will have to be re assembled when he arrives back home.
