The idea of 'Cleaner Appreciation Day' was brought up in our Student Parliament with all members voting in favour of the event. Our Ministers led the organisation and promoted the event, with classes creating posters to say "Thank you" to our cleaning staff. Our students also showed their appreciation by ensuring they cleaned up after themselves. Well done to our Ministers and students on their initiative and THANKS to our wonderful team of cleaners who ensure we have a clean, safe and welcoming environment!

11.01.2022 P&C Meeting and Principal Introduction The P&C have organised a short meeting for Wednesday 16 September from 2pm-2.30pm. As we are unable to meet on the school site, we will join each other using Zoom (see instructions at end of newsletter). We will not follow the normal P&C meeting procedures as this is the first meeting of 2020, the P&C is undergoing a rebuilding phase and most activities are on hold due to COVID restrictions. We are looking forward to re-establishing the P&C as an important part of the school community and want to discuss what this might look like in 2021. This will also be an opportunity for me to briefly speak to the community and present my philosophy and plans for Holsworthy PS.

The Rookies debated against Milperra and the topic was All primary school students should have pets. We would like to congratulate all the debaters on this team for an exceptional victory. The Titans debated against Hammondville and their topic was All primary school students should be allowed to have mobile phones. This team debated very well and their powerful and valid rebuttals gave them a boost and enabled them to win this debate. This means that the Rookies still have two debates to go and the Titans have their final one left. We wish them the best of luck on these debates, hopefully earning them a place in the next level of debating.
