24.01.2022 It is wonderful to see the engagement of our Year 2 students as they participate in their passport Investigations tasks this week. Through their study of Wet Environments the students are participating in a range of activities to give depth to their knowledge in this area. The students have been enjoying Investigation activities looking at different topics since Kindergarten and it is exciting to witness the growth of their skills, evident as they innovate, create and collaborate with staff and each other.

22.01.2022 This week we said farewell to our beloved Mr Franklin. We will miss him and all that he has brought to HCK over the last 18 years. We wish him all the very best at St Patrick’s, East Gosford. Our choir led the school in a ‘special version’ of our school song...instead of ‘Holy Cross is Growing’, we sang ‘Mr Franklin’s Going’.
20.01.2022 At HCK we recognise and nurture a range of gifts and talents. Well done Year 5 artists - the Night of the Notables is shaping up to be great.

19.01.2022 A lot of our families were able to enjoy the sunshine for Week 4 of Fishvember. Some were able to get out for the first time and others for extra Fishvember sessions. It is wonderful to see some grandparents and other extended family members were able to join into Fishvember this weekend too. This coming weekend is our last weekend to get out and have a go as November is fast coming to an end.
18.01.2022 Samaki, one of our local tackle suppliers who are based at Erina, have donated 64 packs of their Sonic Boom Baits soft plastic lures for our families who are participating in Fishvember 2020. Make sure that your family is registered and has sent in photos to win one of these packs. Sonic Boom Baits are deadly on many of our local species, especially flathead which find it impossible to refuse a well-presenter one! A massive thank you to Josh and the Team at Samaki for supporting Fishvember 2020.
18.01.2022 Kindergarten and Year 1 had a great Farm experience yesterday with Sweet Valley Baby Animals.
17.01.2022 "We've Got Your Back" - Year 6 Social Justice The Year 6 students have been busy working on our social justice initiative: ‘we’ve got your back’. With the money they have raised this year, the students went shopping at Kincumber Village Shops and purchased essential items such as deodorant, combs, socks, aeroguard and bandaids. Then last week they worked together to pack 40 backpacks ready to be donated. Later this week, these bags will be delivered to Mary Mac's Place at Woy Woy, who will distribute them to local people in need. We would like to thank Coles Kincumber and Priceline Australia, Sharon Green from Sanitarium Health Food Company, and Kincumber Dental Care. These local businesses have been supporting ‘we’ve got your back’ for a number of years and we are very grateful.

08.01.2022 We had some very excited students this morning who each received prize packs for Fishvember 2020. 45 students who have submitted Fishvember photos so far each received a brand new Okuma Steller rod and reel combo plus a Get Hooked bag with a range of goodies including tackle, pencil case, video and stickers. We must say a huge thank you to the DPI (The Department of Primary Industries) who have generously supplied our school with these amazing products as part of the fundin...g from the Recreational Fishing Trusts (which includes funds from our fishing licenses). The weather looks great again this afternoon and over the weekend to participate in Fishvember 2020. Don’t forget to send in your photos.
