14.01.2022 Happy Feast of The Holy Trinity Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit as it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be world without end Amen.
13.01.2022 Mary was assumed into heaven from this spot in Jerusalem. I love taking pilgrims to pray at this traditional site of her holy sepulcher. May she pray for us on this Solemnity of her Assumption, that we too may share in her Son’s victory over sin and death and be glorified on the last day!

10.01.2022 Friends, I am very pleased to announce that our churches will reopen for private prayer, confession and limited Masses from today as the first step in easing re...strictions during COVID-19. Permission to reopen churches and religious gatherings comes with strict conditions and we must take all reasonable precautions to protect the health of everyone. Attendance at Masses will be limited to a maximum of 10 members of the congregation. A national registration page has been set up so you can register your attendance online at this address: https://www.massregister.com.au You can read my recent Pastoral Letter to clergy here: https://bit.ly/3fN9E5f My ongoing prayers are with you all. 05.01.2022 On this date each year, 13th August, I mark the anniversary of receiving my First Holy Communion. I was seven years old at St Michael’s Lane Cove and received t...he sacrament from Monsignor Hughie McGuire. Sr Mary Eucharia, a Sister of Mercy and my Year 2 teacher, prepared me for the sacrament, teaching me in simple terms that this was the bodily Jesus but also the spiritual God. She thought it would help us to grasp this if we said Thomas’ words ‘My Lord and my God’ at the consecration. More than five decades later I’m still doing so and I pray that the hunger we’ve experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic, may make us all appreciate the Eucharist more, as we realise more than ever how important it is to gather as our brothers and sisters in Christ and receive Our Lord together. God Bless you all.
04.01.2022 Today we celebrate the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary which marks her assumption into Heaven body and soul. Because it signifies the Blessed... Virgin’s passing into eternal life, it is one of the most important of all Marian feasts and a Holy Day of Obligation. The earliest printed reference that Mary's body was assumed into Heaven dates from the fourth century, in a document entitled "The Falling Asleep of the Holy Mother of God". The document is written in the voice of the Apostle John, to whom Christ on the Cross had entrusted the care of His mother, and recounts the death, laying in the tomb and assumption of the Blessed Virgin. Blessed Virgin Mary pray for us Prayer for the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Almighty and everlasting God, You have taken up body and soul into the heavenly glory the Immaculate Virgin Mary, Mother of Your Son: Grant, we beseech You, that, ever intent upon heavenly things, we may be worthy to be partakers of her glory. Through Jesus Christ Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, One God, forever and ever. Amen. #mary #assumption #feast #blessedvirginmary #marianfeast #Holydayofobligation #catholic
03.01.2022 I’ll tell you three things about priests and the Sacrament of Confession: 1. The priest is there to offer Mercy, NOT judgment 2. You’ll not impress the priest. ...After three months ordained we’ve heard it all. 3. Priests are bound by confessional secrecy. We will never repeat or allude to your confession; not even to you or to any other priest. See more
